You are right but I always was a messy worker. I once left a battery on charge too long and found the remains of it fifty yards away in the middle of the yard, it had actually gone through the building roof and spread acid everywhere.. Good job it happened at night when there was no one around.

Dave gave up his FAC a couple of years before his death and he told me that he had bought an airgun just for the grey squirrels. Anyway, thank you for watching, best regards, Jon

I damaged my sx720hs camera screen last month and there just isn't a new camera with similar features available. So, I'm going to attempt the repair here. Quick tip is that some tweezers will help with those mylar connectors. My favorites are some right angle ones, but any will do--just not sharp!. I'm going to try the Chinese camera screen, but there are still OEM Canon ones around, but it is so hard to find a reputable seller to acquire one--and they will all get scarcer as time marches on. When I was taking photos (with a filter) of the eclipse--this camera did an amazing job, and TBH, the dynamic range is better than just about anything available under $1k these days. The iPhones can do a bit better in low light, like bars, but that's not where I take my pictures and the 40x zoom is indispensable once you get used to it. Thanks for the detailed help here!
@wotjonsez2560
@wotjonsez2560 Ай бұрын
Hello, I loved this camera but it was a bit unreliable. The ribbon connectors were normally the problem. Clean them with alcohol and they work again. The Chinese screen still works but now the camera turns on and then the lens closes it's self and a lens error message appears, it could be the connectors again but I have been using a different camera recently. Good luck with yours, Jon

@@wotjonsez2560 , I am a fan of deoxit5. I'll try that on mine to help with oxidation on those connectors. I'm pretty good with tablets and laptops, so I think I'll have a good chance. TBH, your comments about the new screen not not fitting tight will probably encourage me to try to seal the screen to the body as small mechanical things are going to be sensitive to dust-intrusions in my pocket. I've had mine on several continents and it's been very reliable. I have given it a few cleanings with some Hoppes CLP. Maybe all the CLP is what is keeping mine going smoothly, but really who's to say I'm not just lucky?

I wonder if you could install a small ball valve in the rubber return line as a quick way to make this task even easier for future bleeding? Plus replace the bleed valves with a high pressure resistant extended hose with ball valve on the end.. and bleed very easily without disassembly being required again?

I've gone through my carburetor twice now. Removed all the jets.. soaked it in brake parts cleaner over night then put it through a ultra sonic cleaner. used a jet cleaning tool through each and every little hole in the jets have. Blown compressed air throughout the circuits so Im 100 percent certain every circuit is flowing as it should. Im going to try your vacuum trick on the diapham and see what happens. I would love for it just to be stale fuel in my situation but i doubt it considering the loss of power has been slowly getting worse the past few fill ups. Tripple checked my valve lash and its dead on as well as the timing. New spark plug installed with correct gap on its electrode. has a strong blue spark. Compression is 126 psi at wide open throttle (engine has actually gained 5 psi since top end rebuild last winter. 20 hours on new top end) Im running out of ideas whats taken the ole swamp donkeys power. It idles fine runs ok if you keep rpms low and shift early but falls on t Its face once its in its highest gear and qont rev any higher

These problems really can drive you up the wall! The number of times that I have taken carbs. apart repeatedly only to eventually discover an electrical fault. As things warm up the resistance in faulty electricals increases and very often gives the same symptoms as a fuel fault. Easiest to check is the cdi coil because it is easy to jury rig another coil into the system without even having to remove the existing one, then the pick up coil which is deeper in the guts and then test the stator. Have a good look at all the wiring and connections first though. Good luck and let me know what you eventually find, best regards, Jon

If the impeller shaft leaks due to salt crystals scouring, it drips on the long under pipe causing failure within a year. You can re-use the scoured shaft if you turn the impeller oil seal around. I spray grease over all the 3 pipes you mentioned twice a year. I've motored all over europe and put 5000 salty hours on mine, 4 impellers, one long lower return pipe, 3 internal anodes, one impellor oil seal and very little MGO 😉 GREAT VIDEO! P.S I once had the engine diesel filter come loose and had to turn it and bleed her. I gave her a hosepipe flush once. I have a stuart turner sea-cock and raw water filter and replaced that short pipe twice 🤣 I changed to stainless bolts for ease of access on the impellor and white silicone sealant years ago, 5 minute change on a lee-shore 😉 You know your shit dude - respect 🥰 Due to no money my engine has been held in place after all 4 engine mounting rubbers came away by about 40 very big cable-ties, not too tight, not a great option but, it will get you home...

You might want to do the same, it can be convenient to not have the switch on the torch. Nice rifle, not entirely sure what’s not to like about it really, I’ve had numerous air rifles over the years of all kinds and the one I keep returning to is the Weihrauch, in particular a 95k.

Hello, thank you for watching. As far as I am concerned I don't like the weight of these guns but that is something that you are aware of when you buy them. As I say in the video I think that it is a shame that the safety cannot be reset and Weihrauch barrels are a bit rough inside. Having said all that it is an accurate air gun and in my opinion the best Weihrauch that I have handled. I don't shoot air rifles much now, I just use them for shooting the feral pigeons in the barns and my favourite for that job is a humble BSA Meteor which is probably fifty years old, nice and light, accurate and powerful enough for the job. First make sure that every part inside is absolutely dry. Then check the photo cell by unsoldering it and seeing if it works briefly without it as in the comment by shroozle8872. Then have a good look at the circuit board and see if their is any visible damage, sometimes you can repair corroded tracks with solder links. Good luck, Jon
