Why did you install new sheetrock over the popcorn ceiling? Popcorn ceiling scrapes right off if you spray water on it with a pump sprayer and let it sit a minute.

In the house we just bought the ivy has made a tight network around plants that I want to keep, so this method won’t work for me. Also, I’ve noticed it’s thrown shoots under the lawn and emerges all over the place

That guy was not actually truthful with you. They don't carry the bait back, share with friends and the colony dies. The termites die because they can't molt. That can take two years, in the mean time they could have already eaten your house.

Orkin does sentricon, they are very expensive. Reading these comments and how disagreeable they are. I still have no clue what to do. Termite activity a few feet from my home, on my side fence wood is just mesh now. In between if i should do bait system or just treatment. These comments are not helpful. Soon as i agree with one, the next comment is the polar opposite. I don't want to nor can i afford yearly warranty. All these companies are in business to stay in business, and they all come up with a way to keep you paying them every month. I just want something to work, one and done.

I've gone on a rage, to get rid of the ivy around the house. I use a scraper to remove it from the house. I have gotten into pulling on it to remove it from the ground. I will resort to 30 percent Acetic Acid. For those who don't know, white vinegar is the same thing, but it's diluted to around 3 to 7 percent. This will still work, but requires several treatments. The stronger dilution must be applied only on the plant(s) you want to kill. Dish soap is added to get it to stick to the leaves. Works on Poison Ivy, too.

I think, because the tape LED has a limited sticky life into the wood it should go into a little track with clear plastic just in case the glue in the tape gives out and start hanging so with the track will still be inside and giving light and no one will notice it, dont you think? And another question I have because you show the bag with the tape LED you don't say if they are low voltage or 120V and if it's low voltage what type of transformer should we use and where to place it for easy exchange in case it fails But other than those questions i can say I'm amazed of your skills

do you realize that you are throwing away a FREE LAUNDRY DETERGENT?!? English ivy is a GREAT plant that can EASILY be used to make FREE LAUNDRY DETERGENT!!! Cut up 60-100 leaves, boil them in 3 cups of water for 20 minutes covered, then let cool overnight. in the morning, strain and squeeze the leaves in cheesecloth over the liquid to collect and squeeze out all the saponins. pour into a glass bottle and voila! Free laundry soap/detergent!!!!

We've had this system for 4 yrs. $1300 to install and a $300 annual fee after that. I haven't seen any termite activity since. (The initial and only clue was termite wings in the house.) I am tired of paying $300 a year, though. Seems too pricey to me. I'm thinking of switching to a cheaper yet effective alternative.
@olympic-ass-eater2 ай бұрын
$300/year is cheap vs what termite can do to your house. Sub termite is everywhere and they can travel within a football stadium length. They swam every single year.
@frany4417Ай бұрын
I've also had that system. Seemed to work, but the company kinda went downhill. Every year, they raised the annual payment. Would show up once a year unannounced, never making an appointment. They also only check some not all of the baits. Never in 8 years changing any cartridges and I was recently told they last 5 years. So, I decided to do some research. Here's what I found. A good yt channel is Guy's pest solution. He's retired after 30 years of being certified in multiple states. He has many diy suggestions. Check out his video on BioAdvanced termite killer granules. But be sure to get the right ones that contain the right active ingredients. As there are two different ones. It'll be in the video. Good luck!

Is there any concern that the sealant might prevent the PEC from being able to expand and contract due to temperature changes ? The gap around my pipes is small so I plan to use caulk rather than expanding foam.

That is very nice. I’m in the process of making a tall bar table for our beach theme sunroom and want to paint the table top in something similar. The top is 1-1/2” thick hardwood and I plan to prime it in white latex wall paint first. Once dried, paint an abstract sunset with a interior latex wall paint and the seal it in a water base polyurethane. This is my first attempt at this type of painting. Does my plan sound good or would you recommend something different?

One of the best realizations is that brick ranches are great for efficient comfortable living. You can age in place and the older ones aren't ridiculously large but you still get a good size property with them. Great job saving this little gem.
