How did you get the braket bolts out? Just tried to do same job. Those bolts seem to be on there pretty good. Breaker bar? Long pope for leverage?

They can definitely be seized up pretty good. I would recommend a wrench with a cheater on it to give you leverage if it’s overly seized. Mine came of with a larger ratchet luckily.

This worked for my 2011 town car. slightly different since mine was - 720-01-01, IC Module configuration (As Built Format). but the same block and the same 3rd digit was changed to zero. mine was "0880" and afterward was "0800" thanks.

Tip when putting the caps on the Allen bolts put a dab of grease in the hole it’ll prevent rust and keep it going a little longer.

I need a one old and one new key solution. Only one key came with my truck. Bought a used fob and had the key cut. The key goes into the ignition and turns but an error say s there is no key. Going to locksmith to get second key programmed.

I programmed 2 new keys that I got cut using forscan. They both worked to start the car , but none of their buttons work. Also it disabled my aftermarket remote start . What did I do wrong ?

I figured this out. You need to insert the new key, open door, press unlock button, leave door open, cycle key 8 times ending in run position. When locks cycle, press button on fob, locks will cycle again. Fob is programmed.

Hunter has it right. The fob portion is a separate setup.

It could be, but the program is, as far as I know, for ford. I know a lot of Mazdas are identical but I do not know if the programming is different

I have a tool to clear the codes, But I would think that you could unplug the battery and ground out the positive and it would clear the codes.

Thanks for the video but did not really help answer my question. When the cable breaks, how do you get the hood open to do the replacement? I have a 2006 Ford F150 and I can't seem to reach the latch from outside.

Hey there, I apologize on not seeing this earlier. I am assuming you got it figured out? In the past I have had to reach a flat head screwdriver down in there and fish around until I could push the mechanism to the side to release. If you don't have enough room for that because of the grille you may need to remove the shroud beneath the bumper so you can reach up and around it between the radiator and bumper. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for your reply. I was able to reach the latch to release the hood using 24” long pry bar working through the grill. Once I had the hood open I found that the cable had just disconnected so I just reconnected and lubed. All good now.

I'm going to look at my work again but, after putting it all back together, it isn't lining up with the van like it did previously. There's too much space between the housing and the van body and the housing sticks out slightly so that I can see the protrusion from my driver's side rear view mirror. Could it be that I didn't put the clips in (I didn't even notice to do that)? What else could it possibly be?
