I have chest pains, but not when cycling or walking. I can cycle for about 2 hours a day, even longer, without pain, I can breath in through the nose 98% of the time, even when driving fast and my condition is quite good. But I sometimes feel pain in the left chest and in my neck and left arm... when sitting. So they ordered me a CT scan to find out more. I have this test the end of the month. The doctor said it is not likely that I have calcified arteries because I can cycle for this many hours a day. What could it be? The echo and ECG scan where all good.

I'm back on my 4th generation of L. reuteri using BioGaia tabs (what we were using originally). So glad to get back to my 'yogurt'!! I lost a full container and whey starters I had in my freezer when Beryl hit Houston. I can tolerate replacing almost anything from my freezer or fridge except my yogurt! So glad to have it back. My Luvelle has been getting a lot of use lately! ;)

Thank you so much for your video and book. In 2022 we started watching your videos and soon after purchased your book super gut and started making our own homemade fermented dairy from our own milk goats. We had made homemade yogurt for years but your book help us take our health to the next level. We are both are 66 and take no meds. I am 5.8 and 150. She is 5.3 110. We are in excellent health. BUT three weeks ago we got covid for the first time. We let out guard down to much. It did a number on our lungs and digestion. We are basically over all the many issues it caused except one. We both noticed at the start of covid when we could eat we would try our fermented dairy products and they just would not digest. We did not take any meds(prescribed or over the counter) except we did take Pepto when the dairy hit so hard. Our health is missing the fermented dairy products. My understanding is covid can take away your body's ability to produce lactase thus covid makes you lactose intolerant. Have you heard of this issue? Do you know of a correction. In the coming weeks we will be trying acupuncture. We have heard it can work to reset your system to start making lactase again. I thought you would find this interesting.

I’ve not eaten wheat, I’ve eaten a lot of wheat. I have no pains from eating three bowls of frosted shredded wheat a day . I lose weight, I have better bowel movements, I eat shredded wheat when I crave something sweet. I’m really beginning to think the camps of don’t eat this or that are just dreaming what they want to believe. Shredded wheat is certainly better for me than dairy, ice cream etc… we all figure it out sooner or later. We are blessed to live in a country where bread a staple of life can be looked down upon. Yep, bread…

I have spent the last 15-20 years chasing a healthier life and I just found you about a month ago. My personal experience has led me to believe simpler is the best way. You have addressed, and tied up so many loose ends for me that I wish I knew when my family was still here, it would have made a dramatic difference for them. I basically dragged my parents through detox of a terribly destructive diet and witnessed unbelievable changes in their health, and the response of their "trusted" MD. For many years I believed ALL MDs are criminals and guilty of imprisoning humanity. Thank you for restoring my hope that, at least one of the more intelligent people on this planet is not totally corrupt. Even the MDs providing functional medicine, who claim to be looking upstream, stop far short of this to offload gobs of dis-illusioned patients cash, as they search for any lifeline in their increasing darkness. I believe the gut is where we choose between life, and death.

Question : when we use the yogurt maker that has a bunch of jars, when we make our initial “mother” for the main culture. When the yogurt is done on your first initial batch ever, do you leave the yogurt in all those containers or put in all one big container? So you start eating this yogurt but then if you need more then for the next step just to add 2 tablespoons to your next batch of your original “mother”? I’m a little confused on the next step after you have created your mother. I just want to clarity around how to store it in the fridge and when you should start making more yogurt with your mother.

I do 8 litres with organic milk first cooking to 80 degrees for half an hour then cooling to body temp. Then I do the slurry with two tablespoons of organic tapioca starch and two tablespoons of the previous batch per litre. I then mix with the milk thoughroughly then pour into sealable jars. They go in a large tub of water with the sous vide for 36 hours on 36 degrees. Works a treat. Generally I give some away to neighbours and put the rest in supergut smoothie 😊

What seems uncontested is that blood sugar rises after ingesting foods with embedded Carbohydrates... Then we have the type of carb ... Have learned most carbs are either mostly Amylose or Amylopectin ( where Amylose is a linear, unbranched molecule, while Amylopectin is highly branched). True? Seems the branched form can shed glucose faster than the linear ( images of a candle burning at both ends, vs christmas tree on fire comes to mind), where the branched form leads to higher blood sugar peaks?? Is this correct? Then we might seek foods with less Amlyopectin and more Amylose? Agaoin, visually, if 100g of Amylose-heavy carbs were ingested one day and 100g of Amylopectin-heavy carbs the next, would we expect a lower peak blood glucose (and less insulin response) on day 1 than on day 2? Would we expect the second test to resolve faster (back to baseline) in healthy individuals with "normal insulin response", but persist longer in those in stages of insulin resistance? Asking for a friend. Thanks!

What is the best way to measure blood glucose? Seems finger sticks are like.. 90% accurate.. some even worse. I'd been using two strips ( caretouch) and averaging.. Surprising the difference TBH. A CGM would seem ideal for tracking the curve and providing instant feedback to someone that really wanted to know, but these seem to be costly. For the cost of many Rx, though, relatively inexpensive.

My reuteri yoghurt is often very liquid, not nicely set, especially when making the first batch from crushed tablets, or when making it with whole milk (no added cream). Fortunately our yoghurt maker came wth a fine mesh device for making thick Greek style yoghurt. This separates the runny reuteri yoghurt into a thick fraction and a translucent liquid that is pleasant to drink, and which presumably also contains heaps of reuteri bacteria.

So, I read Supergut and loved it. I started making the yogurt and have been enjoying it for almost a year now. During travel my yogurt went bad, so I had to start again from scratch, but I am having such trouble and I don’t know why. I mixed 10 crushed tablets along with a few capsules of other beneficial bacteria that I had used the first time I started the culture. I use my insta pot for 36 hours at 105 degrees as I always did and the ferment keeps coming out all curdles and overflowing the containers. Am I using too much starter? I’ve tried 3 times now thinking my half and half was bad, but am stumped. Any ideas?
