In the late 80's the morning take off queue was quite impressive. My friend used to work for MD and he said one of the most impressive things was seeing the B1 bomber take off from LGB.

i have flown numerous times on jet liners and from different airlines. i watched the skillful landing these two pilots performed.These pilots were awsome and Delta should be very proud of them.Great job men,hats off to both.

Excellent is not enough to appreciate the skills and ownership of the pilots. Flight landing in full speed without floater wings is rare and lifetime experience, though not a pleasent one but ended with phenomenal success!

Hi Kevin , ich don't know in you read this, but i want to mention, it's really hard3to understand you as the ATC and the surrounding noises are much louder than your voice record. AT least in my opinion it would be desirable to have better Balance in the audio records, especially between the ATC record and your own voice to understand what you're saying. This used to be better in past Times. Cheers

I noticed an optical illusion on the Delta 757-300 livery where the curve of the blue belly downward towards the tail section makes it look like the rear of the airplane is deflected downward

After many years of flying into Southern California, I finally flew in and out of LGB in connection with a cruise last fall. I became an immediate fan! What a great little airport! I can't wait to go back!

Serious question...why did the forward slats not retracting negate use of the flaps on landing? One would think that with the flaps/slats the total camber of the airfoil would increase which would allow slower approach speed to create the same amount of lift. What did I miss?
