Sunny Okosun was a great African freedom fighter who used his revolutionary songs to put pressure on country's that practiced Apartheid system of government. His songs had great impact that led to the freedom of many African countries under the colonial rule. May his soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.

Great legend of all times. I'm not a Nigerian but loves his music, though not understanding the language. RIP Cardinal Rex Lawson. I went to have food in Nandos , London and heard his music . Amazing. His music brings me comfort all night whilst in bed. I mean, every night. Love Mu Adure is my favourite, followed by Adeje.. I'm watching the concert . Bless you all . God bless the 2 survivors. Lady from London. 🇨🇲

I come across this song today and it brings so much memories growing up. I was in primary school when my older brothers in High School comes home then fed me with those uncommon music. One thing of note is that, I just discovered today that Sunny Okosun sang this track. Memories of late 70s just come back to me just now.

Part of the early days of Sonny Okosuns gave us Help. This was before he delved into Ozzidism and as king of the genre. RIP Sonny Okosuns!

Also a hero in my life. A true legend in the actual sense of that term. We used to argue back in those days that it was Onyeka on vocal. You are truly missed. R.I.P. Ozzidi

Mortars - could have my father in that clip! That War Office document included Dad - they arrived in Burma October 1944. First task was kicking supplies out of Dakotas to front line troops

My maternal grandfather from Nigeria fought in Burma and was really close to his British C.O. at the time. So many stories he told of his time there. That C.O. taught him to read and write and gave him the name "Augustine". After demobilisation, being childless he offered to take my grandfather back to the UK but our family declined citing the absence of his elder brother who'd gone to the then Gold Coast and never returned. I'm searching for the name of that C.O. According to the stories transmitted by my mom, that C.O. was possibly the leader of the entire Nigerian detachment sent to Burma. Are you aware of any resources (preferably online) that can help? Thanks.

Thank you so much for this. I'd just blown a morning watching a new thing for me - someone painting a WW2 1/35th scale figure brilliantly. Got me to googling for African and Indian Army figures. Not surprisingly, I didn't find any (doesn't mean they don't exist). Huge proportion of Eastern Theatre of WW2 allied army was African or Indian subcontinent. Japanese feared the Africans most. Dad was in 82nd Nigeria Regiment of RWAFF
