What´s the flow required from a hydrant? NFPA 291 advises 20 psi residual pressure but I didn´t find the flow, thanks

3:55 It's a good idea to spread out that dog paw(cross chain connector) again after replacing it. If it doesn't get spread apart, it causes too much stress in too small of a distance on the side chain link that it is fastened to. This eventually pulls the side chain link out of shape, or pulls both sides of the dog paw into an end of that one side chain link- essentially adding one link to the cross chain and, at the same time, shortening the side chain by one link. Either way, it weakens the chains & can lead to chain failure.

Where do you get that tool
@louisbecker59413 жыл бұрын
U can find them at places like NAPA & Harbor Freight... also on-line. They are called 'tire chain pliers.' They're great to keep in your truck. My company has several of them in our shop, but we also have a pneumatic tire chain maintenance table. It's a real back-saver!

@@louisbecker5941 Thank you for that. My company just gave me a new to me truck with two broken cross chains on each of the triples. And I've repaired chains before, albeit with a hammer and a grinder or even a hacksaw once. This is so much easier though. I'll have a pair on order in just a few minutes. They seem to only be about $100.

Can i make a suggestion. Its much easier if when cutting or spreading the door hinges you cut the bottom 1 first. If you cut the top 1 the door tends to drop and make access lower down more difficult.

Yup I just did that way the other night way easier.

I will add wait water flow with nozzle pointing some 70-80° upwards so the appliance dont move as when the water reaction push it out of the spikes setting. Then lower it to the correct angle.

Nice video.....why not the master stream base in the lower of the pumper?. When you need it, ever will have to be moved to the fire scene.
@BendFireTraining4 жыл бұрын
Mainly due to a lack of space. We'll almost never perform the action in this video unless we experience a catastrophic event such as a burning tank car where we want an unmanned master stream We have a Blitzfire monitor in the lower compartment that is our go-to for most master stream applications. Hope that explains it.

Gracias hermanos.
