How to calibrate a nibp with the Lt Power lab?

Thanks for the question. When using the sphygmomanometer and pressure transducer to measure NIBP in the Blood Pressure Module in Lt, no calibration is required as the pressure is pre-calibrated for the experiment. Are u not following the correct color code in v1-v6 we learn as students - as u have white where we usually put green as in “ ride your green bike on pavement “ - or doesn’t it matter in those two?

Apologies for the delayed reply. We didn't follow any convention for this as each region has their own. Colours don't really matter as long as they are connected to the correct channel on the BioAmp.

Thank you for this, very useful. Is the saline a strict requirement for calibration? Can an ordinary sphygmomanometer connected to a valve not work? This is what we use for calibrating a fluid filled catheter so we're familiar with that set up.

Thanks a lot for your questions and apologies for the delay in responding. Yes, you can use a sphygmomanometer to calibrate the pressure (the dial from the pressure gauge kit is from a sphygmomanometer). We suggest saline as this is what’s commonly used with fluid filled catheters, but deionised or distilled water would be fine too.

Hello, I had this test carried out today and they inserted the needle in my ankle area. I told them my sensations I’m experiencing are in my thighs and calves and they assured me that this would also test these areas… is this correct? I don’t want a false negative.
