I need help to restart my layout that worked 10 years ago.One starting problem might be helped if you know just a bit more about the old cmcc powermaster.There seems to be at least two versions.on the bottom one identifies as base one,as you presented in video,the other reads powermaster and has a different hook up. Unfortunately, I’m looking at both and not sure what is going on. I may in fact, I’m sure I have other problems but this one seems it might count for the problem at this time. I really could use help here

Yes, there is no difference from the Legacy or TMCC system as far as that goes.

Yeah, I agree. Luckily Nicholas Smith let me swap out the cars until we found good ones to make a good complete set. They are the best.

I was not so lucky with Shapeways deciding to close up. I ordered prints from them many times over the last 3 years and besides price, they were great. But my last order won't be coming as I literally ordered the day before and after checking out, I got a Host server Error message. Customer service never responded. It is disappointing to say the least.

I tried to fine the Legacy System Utility on Lionel web page. The page is different than the one from 2 years ago. Did Lionel discontinue the Legacy System Utility? Do you know how I can find the Legacy System Utility. So, I can Downe lode it to my computer. I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

They no longer produce a separate ship schedule. They now use the Lionel Store. You look up the item on the store and it will show the arrival date. It's actually been pretty accurate lately.

Great review Sean! I can't get over the lime green seats. It's like they 3D printed them and didn't paint them. The different paint on the roofs is also concerning. I've never seen such a drastic difference, and in the same pack, no less! - Ryan

Yeah, Nicholas Smith swapped out the cars for me so I could get all matching ones. But I will have to take care of the Lime green seats myself, lol. This is why I don't buy very much new stuff, but the GW set was one I always wanted, so....

What I want from Lionel and MTH is for them to expose their control systems through software. I would love to write my own stuff via C++, Python etc and be able to roll my own. Just give me access via software, API, etc to ALL of the functions on a Cab. In other words view the model railroad control systems as IoT devices. I can control everything else on my layout with a computer, please let me do that for trains. I think it might open the hobby up to makers and hobbiests who are not model railroaders.

Just discovered your videos. Great. Question when you add ground cover over the matt do you add spray adhesive to hold it in place or will the ruin the paper or vinyl matt underneath thanks

I only add spray adhesive on vertical surfaces/mountains, but not on the flat surfaces. You can if you want. in certain areas though its impossible to do without getting it on other things. Static/friction pretty much holds it on flat areas.

A very good review of a beautiful dual locomotive consist, Sean. Very impressive lead power unit...so much smoke! The auxiliary unit is a little shy on the smoke side, but the two units together are so powerful looking. Thanks for the demo.

Sean, awesome job. As to the clearance you were speaking of where you removed the lock washers and used Locktite instead was that clearance issue compounded when your oversized the holes for the rods so that the plate did not rest on the nuts? No criticism just asking.

No they are 2 totally different issues. The big nuts on the bottom of the rods couldn’t even get by the gear which is why I had to pull them in closer to the center.

Nicholas Smith exchanged the cars with the paint issues, and I got a good complete set, but quality control at Lionel needs improvement!

It’s real easy to fix the diaphragms, just pull them out and flip them. They used to come not installed.

Yeah, I also I had to wash them under hot water because the foam they used, fused to the rubber when I tried to pull it out.

HAHA. I think they are new to train making. Paint finishes seem to be the biggest issue. Luckily, I was able to swap them out and get a whole set with no blemishes.

Great addition! I just bought a complete 10 car set of the C&O passenger cars from the Lionel 2022 volume 2 book from Nicholas Smith as well. All 2 pack sets and the station sounds dining car. Mine are painted in the modern C&O blue, yellow, and grey livery. The new Legacy C&O F19 Pacific's will arrive at Lionel on July 21st and will finally arrive at dealers by the end of that month.

The "aisle" was a corridor that ran alongside private sleeping accommodations, i.e. Compartments & Drawing Rooms. Compartments had a sink and commode in the room with the seating that transferred into beds at night. Drawing Rooms had an "Annex" containeing the sink and commode for privacy and were more expensive. The sleeping cars with the obsession were actually an indication of more expensive accommodations.

"Some Classic Trains" & "More Classic Trains" were written by Arthur D. Durbin about fifty years ago. They can be purchased economically on eBay with a wee bit of patience. Amongst the passenger trains included are The George Washington & the1938 20th Century Ltd. & the 1938 Broadway Ltd. They illustrate exteriors and interiors of many passenger trains and would help provide background information on the trains you're collecting.
