Could have been true for the latter, although Rex did get a VHS release through Universal sometime in 1999.

Interestingly, a clip from the episode "Brum and the Wheels" would be reused for a CBeebies promo made in 2004 that include clips from the "Postman Pat" episode "Postman Pat Takes a Message", the "Bob the Builder" episode "Muck Gets Stuck", the "Little Red Tractor" episode "The Lucky Day" and the Series 1-4 intro of "Fireman Sam".

Judging by the fact that this was shown on NBC, I'm guessing that the show was originally planned to air in the US at some point.

I’m so glad someone recorded this, as it’s lovely to look back at. I went there as well, and it was kinda emotional seeing it all in person. I’m so pleased that there’s a proper archive for Cosgrove Hall, as not all animation history is preserved for future generations unfortunately.

Cosgrave Hall's BFG is a timeless, magical film which proved Britain could match Disney in it's prime in terms of fantasy and emotion, that a beautiful song like this could be cut from such a movie is further proof of just how much was put into it. The painfully overrated fantasy hack Steven Spielberg and his soulless, bland attempt further goes to show that money and industry connections will never match an infinitely smaller budget driven by genuine passion and love of the source material.

To be honest, the giants in the cartoon is a LOT more scarrier than the book versions and the 2016 live action versions. They just feel alot more like giants, and how they probably would have looked like if they were real; while the live action ones just look like Scootish bagpipe players, and the book ones a bit too wacky (i do understand that they were hand drawn, but still a bit too wacky). They just look more scarrier… Especialy Fleshlumpeater…
