Clack water softeners are meant to be installed by a dealer. Clack makes a variety of control board options. For this reason, the UI could be very different from unit unit. This is why it's recommended to have a dealer choose the unit. Also, the proper programming settings are very important to maintaining an efficient system that will last a long time; and a qualified dealer will know what these settings should be. Also, clack units do come with a battery backup, in case of power outage.

Thank you for the information! The video is extremely well done. It was a great bonus to include the links to those items. I never like including links bc you never know when a product you love in the moment, gets sold, and the quality disappears. So please don't be backed into posting links for an ingrate. 😉

If you buy one of these recommend that you immediately order at least 10’ of 3/8” id 1/2” od plastic tubing. The tubing that comes with the filter is really not enough to conveniently draw water directly from a source and pump water into a 5 gallon container without holding the filter. You will need at least 2 feet to 3 feet of clean filtered water tubing to fill your potable water container. You will need 8 feet to 7 feet of tubing to draw water from your source unless you plan to dip water out the source with a bucket.

I purchased the premium 316 mega home distiller 6 months ago and it's already not usable. It won't start any longer and the 316 SS had corroded terribly in the chamber. I have another 316 distiller, the water wise that I have been using since 2021 and it's in perfect condition. I don't understand why my mega home is corroded and the turn on button is broken. I am still under warranty so I contacted them and they refuse to help! I am not impressed with megahome customer service or the product I bought.

It depends on the quality of initial source of water that is available for for various purposes: Drinking Cooking Bathing Washing clothes etc. If Municipality is the provider with accepted tds value and water contamination is suspected during transit one may choose: Sediment filter 5 micron - sediment filter 1 micron - GAC filter - Carbon activated block filter of 1 micron - copper ion filter - ultrafiltration of 0.1 to 0.001 micron - ultraviolet light. When your first filter is 5 micron which consists outer layer of 10 micron, middle layer of 7 micron and innermost layer of 5 micron it is less likely to be blocked before six months in case of domestic use for one family. After six months one can reuse it after adequate cleaning for the further one year.

If tds is more than 500 one should reduce tds for drinking. If it is of the order of 100-200 one may filter the water for elimination of sediment, odour, organic impurities, micro-organisms like bacteria and viruses. For this successive filtering as follows may achieve the goal: Sediment filter 10 micron Sediment filter 5 micron Sediment filter 0.5 micron Ultrafiltration 0.01-0.001 micron Add copper Test and Make water alkaline and ORP negative if required Pass through UV light Store for drinking for a day or two.

:46 cons list is wrong. Fluoride is not healthy. It can cause bone and blood cancer. If you brush with toothpaste, you get all that you need. Also, distilled water doesnt "lack electrolytes and healthy minerals". Those things are in the water because the water eroded it from somewhere. If you are looking for calcium, do you want tiny flecks of rock in your water? Or do you want calcium from a healthy source like milk or broccoli where its integrated into the food? If you are looking for those nutrients from water, you might have more luck sucking on a rock. 1:11 "purified water is often described as flat or bland".....or maybe people should just recognize the taste of pure water. Sure, that fluoride sure has the sweet taste, and who doesnt like the "rotten egg" smell from iron in the water? YUMMY. But, just like the water did, your best option for iron consumption is to suck on a metal rod, right? 1:37 what studies say that drinking purified water might not be suitable for human health? For that matter, what studies show that a person who is eating a normal healthy diet will suddenly have the nutrients from their food leached from their bodies due to drinking water that is too pure? That is BS on a grand scale. 1:46 yeah, because mixing infant formula with toxic municipal water (unless you live in Columbus Ohio that has one so good it can make R/O and Distilled water with it and sell it) is better than using pure water for your baby. Pure water doesnt clump, doesnt take as long to heat, homogenizes better and your body readily accepts it better, especially infants when it comes to Chlorine and Fluoride consumption. Their bodies have to act different with the food with those poisons in the mix. Fluoride is in the water for the benefit of peoples teeth. Babies dont need that. You guys are pulling things out of your behinds in this video, shame on you.
@flixwater
@flixwater 9 ай бұрын
thanks for your comment, these are listed as reasons to explain why distilled water is not suitable for drinking, it doesn't mean you cannot or should not use distilled for drinking at all, some prefer distilled water while others drink other types of water like RO water, tap water, or alkaline water. Anyway, we very much appreciate your opinion and it would be great if you could advise on this type of water.
@tommywolfe2706
@tommywolfe2706 9 ай бұрын
I only drink R/O or distilled. Not only are all of the things that I mix into water, supplements, coffee, tea and stuff made for pure water, not tap water, but food also. Foods that need water. You can argue all you want but chlorine, fluoride and all of those are not natural and effect the taste of the food and drink and how it interacts with your body. I also sold water softeners and systems for a while and my hometown has a street (oak street) that the water tower is on, and its a town of 800 people, and one lady who bought an R/O system was part of a cancer survivor group that had 23 members that were from her street alone. Most didnt live there anymore, for obvious reasons. I did not tell her that we could remove the cancer causing agents with our softeners and R/O system, for those that will accuse/ask. No artificial claims. I sold softeners and systems for a Kinetico dealer, they have standards. It was all about what she wanted to do with her water. I also used to work out with a dude who worked for the water department in my home town. To treat the water, the Chlorine and Fluoride came in 50lb bags, like cement, that they had to cut with box cutters and dump into the tower. Its not a scientific process. If you are worried about how acidic the treated water, admittedly it does raise that, you remineralize the water. Treating it with distillation takes out impurities, but calcium isnt one of them for some people (though it will hurt the absorption of powders in your water and make your tea darker). That would bring the PH back in balance.

Yes, this is just about some of the reasons why distiller is not for drinking, it doesn't mean we cannot or should not drinking it, many people choose distilled water or RO water like you.

If distilled water is not for drinking why is it the only water hospitals use?
@flixwater

Yes, we are talking about normal use as it lacks important minerals, but it doesn't mean we cannot drink it, in hospitals some people with health conditions may need pure water with no contaminants at all.

You spend all this time reviewing the ProOne, but you never used a TDS meter (cheap 6 dollar device on amazon) to measure the TDS of the water going in (buy a gallon of purified water from the grocery store which should have under 10 PPM, then when the water comes out after going through the ProOne Filter, explain how the PPM will rise to around 150 PPM. I contacted ProOne Company and they felt this odd, bought new filters same thing and no response from ProOne as to why. If you are going to review a water filter - do it the right way, don't just stand their talking about how great it is with all the certifications, show proof it is actually removing more stuff then what is going into it with the use of a TDS meter.
@flixwater
@flixwater 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. It's more about introducing and comparing the products, not lab testing. It depends on your filtering purpose to use the right tool, if your purpose is to reduce TDS then use a TSD meter. Make sure the purified water from the grocery is not pure RO water as an RO system can filter most of everything from water even the minerals that are good for your health.

how does this compare to a carbon block .05 microns filter? I am trying to understand why this is used for filtering all the water, and not just the drinking water
@flixwater
@flixwater 10 ай бұрын
Usually, a carbon block 0.05 micron is used as the 2nd state in a reverse osmosis (RO) system, not as a single filter by itself, and it is protected by a sediment filter in the 1st state. The UC 200 is a single filter system can work alone with multi states of filter media inside it. If you want to get rid of almost all the contaminants from the water (pure H2O) for drinking purpose only, you can use an RO system, an RO system with alkaline filters is recommended as important minerals will be added back to the water. If you just want to filter sediment and improve the taste of water for the kitchen tap you can use this one or any other under-sink systems.
