not all cartridge are created equal ;)

It's made to handle that much weight. Vinyl records were designed to handle 6 - 8 grams, and that was before better vinyl formulations were developed in the late 1960s. So it's really not a problem.

yes, it's the recommended tracking force for the SPU

And I thought that the 2.5 gram tracking force on a Denon DL103 was on the heavy side. Of greater concern is the lack of adjustability of the stylus tip overhang on the classic SPU's. You must use an SME style arm with the slotted mounting opening or a separate arm pod to be able. to adjust the overhang for minimum tracking error.

Wow, it looks and sounds amazing! It would match great with a more minimalistic turntable like maybe the AT-LP5X, the J-shaped tonearm would look jaw-dropping with it ❤😊

Not sure you can add the extra counterweight on the Audio Technica. Anyway those SPU deserve higher level tonearm, that one is now mounted on my Ortofon 12" rs309d arm

The 12 and 13 were insane level crafted horns, I like his analysis that the 555 diaphragm is 1 gram driven by an equivalent 1,000 hp. Those sorts of systems really convey the emotional element of the music, especially when driven by WE first series of tubes
