38:10 - the stifling dagger nerf was because of the mid-support cheese that someone discovered. You could pick another mid and set PA at 1200 range, outside of EXP range, and stifling dagger the enemy mid over and over until they got bullied out. That was 100% the reason the range was scaled, to make it so you couldn't use this cheese.

It's so funny seeing how some heroes weren't competitive meanwhile I was just playing pubs and pudge was either a menace that could win games or useless because it missed. My first match against a pudge was lost because he got like 30 kills from gank. The old pub strat of going mid and then ganking at 6 because that was your role, no support will ever come to mid, it was your midlander job to gank and people would get mad if you didn't do it as soon as you were level 6.

the reason 6.86f dropped was because you can nuke any pos 1/2 with bkb in late game, especially in lvl 22 (having aghs back then grants you +1 on all orbs, getting the aoe def blast early). vurtune's combo is a good example of this. blink in to enemy, def blast, meteor, sunstrike, refresher, def blast, sunstrike (if it's a very tanky core, alacrity on urself for extra hits). of course, this only works in pubs, and also this combo is a high risk, high reward, and you have to perfectly execute your combo, or you will waste your refresher in the next teamfight. personally, i would love def blast to have a mini stun to mainly cancel out channeling spells, but not the knockback stun.

Oh boy am I looking forward to the final video with how your talk about it, but I am also saddened by the completion of this channel being on the horizon since it has been an enjoyable ride. Interesting to see how Invoker changed over the years, but really funny to hear his name is Carl. I also find it pretty amazing he is so famous and powerful since he knows at least 10 spells, but it is really interesting since every other hero in Dota have so few spells, and most wouldn't be spells but racial/technological abilities taken to an extreme. I like how the world of Dota stays consistent with itself so well over so many years. I remember it was Dota v6.10 or 11 where Invoker was a hero but then immediately removed in the next update.

As someone who's been playing Dota 2 since open Beta I can say with confidence that Dota sucks. Now excuse me, I have an Invoker with brown boots and kaya after 30 minutes to support.
