I like how the electric motor is not at all responsible for the accuracy of the clock. It’s the mechanics that determines the accuracy. I’d consider it cheating if the motor created the accuracy.

This style of tap wrench is deceptively complex. It makes sense to make a proper detail drawing to catch the fit and proportions. I made a series of 3 wrenches of this design from small to large and purposely did not include knurling on the "working" ends of the handles. The idea being that I did not want to be holding onto a file. If you do any amount of heavy tapping you will quickly understand why. A pretty good first effort all the same.

I just ordered one and already regretting it. How come Vevor have NO genuine reviews from verified purchasers apart from a handful on Amazon which are all 'do not buy', 'stopped working after 3 weeks and vevor refuse to honour warranty' I'm in Australis and unless the quality's better offshore I think I'm doomed. At least the bonafide reviews I did find recommended getting a refund thru PayPal/credit-card when Vevor refuse to help🤷

Hi, I will add to my comments. Your design is the most practical I have seen. I, like you, find that as the band saw is always available I use it very often. No more faffing about. I put velcro around the switch with a cord looped over the top mount and a piece of dowel on the end. I simply pull the dowel and the velcro comes off the swirch. Good for emergency stopping. Thankyou again. Good clear video and easy to hear your words (thanks to no music). Aussie Mal.

It isn't particularly difficult to harden that drill bit. Run it under a torch until its glowing brightly and quickly dunk it in oil, making sure to swirl it around to avoid bubbles and uneven cooling. Now its hardened. but it will be too hard (brittle). Heat it again but this time slowly. Just until you see it start to get a gold color to it and then stop and let it cool naturally. Now its hardness range is good for a punch.

A couple of hints with your acrylic, after sanding your edges you can flame polish the edges with a touch and they will come up clear. Also if scratch it (acrylic always scratches) an automotive scratch polish remover will buff out the scratches well.

I have to admit I find myself pretty much in the same position you were in, having bought the handheld version of the saw last year, I am finding it to be a fantastic tool - wish I had bought this version of it right off the bat. But my old electric hacksaw is still working well, and I have a few blades for it sitting in the cupboard, I'll wear them out first before getting one of these, (nearly 40 bucks each for those suckers!) But one of these is definitely on my gunna list!

I have a little fixture plate I use in my electric hacksaw for clamping down small items that won't hold with the standard vice. The existing vice holds the fixture plate, and the small item is clamped to the fixture plate.
