Man i still love this game to this day i never played it as a kid but my youtube page as a kid was nothing but zoo tycoon 2 jpog and some godzilla clips it wasn't until 2017 when i got it for christmas set it up and played it ever sinces to the point where i got the first game but i got the wrong version i got it for mac not for windows i found the windows one i just need to buy it again but this game will forever be my favorite zoo game to ever exist

One other thing that I think frustrates navigation is that although you can almost always get from A to B, the actual layout of each section lacks many (or any) straight horizontal or vertical paths across them. Prior games in the series had more of these (partially because those were easier to do on earlier hardware), but the result is that traversing a section to get to the next requires frequent map checks, particularly if you’ve come back to the game after a break.

I still have my complete collection CD case with the instruction manual including every single animal in the game. When I was a kid I somehow believed that by placing the cursor over the loading bar it’d go quicker. To this day I still mindlessly place it over it, and it makes me smile every time.

What broke planet zoo for me was when i realized the animals are just decorations. In zoo tycoon 2 your animals were actually animals with behavior and a food hierarchy. In planet zoo they are just costumes that play idle animations. I'm much more into the animal aspect than the building aspect so it was an easy decision to make. You can't make an ecosystem in planet zoo but you can in ZT2.

Sry to be one of those guys commenting, but yes, when i was eight years old, I knew what an Okapi was, or an Ibex or even a Dromedar. This isn't on the game, this is on your knowledge on animals, or our education (for which you're not responsible- entirely). Never heard of a secretary (bird), well, I did!! But for someone who takes the "Lion King" as a reference for their education on animals, (don't get me wrong, one of my favorite movies) it's maybe not that surprising. Even for an eight year old. Sry mate! But at the end of the line, we're on the same page brother, great game!

I adored and still adore ZT2! Knowing that there are other people out there that share such an appreciation for this game is awesoms. I discovered that the modding community is still active too! There is a team of modders working on a remaster of the whole game- from UI to animal models to bioms to skyboxes to ai and beyond! It's called Radical Remake! Its all mods too- they have been actively recreating everything with updated looks since forever and i am so glad the game is being kept alive through the modding community! Thanks for the nostalgia tour. I'll always prefer ZT2 over Planet Zoo. It's so much simpler and relaxing to just jump right in with the older game.

This video was suggested to me while I was in the middle of doing a painting, very planned, with a damn easel and everything. But I feel bad even saying that art is one of my hobbies because I don't do anything very realistic. So I'm not actually an artist, I just have a big tension with all the acrylic paint on my table right now. It will get better once the ghost of creativity stops appearing in my dreams.

start with the large intestine, it's easier to put back. then you can go for the small intestines, but I recommend keeping those where they are so you don't have to shove them back in. there might be some serotonin in your apendix, so if you got that removed, might want to see if your doctor still has it. they probably don't though, because they probably wanted the serotonin for themselves. and now you know the real reason 10% of the population gets appendicitis. anyway, if none of that works, see if you can find a friend who will share their intestines. if all your friends are selfish, jordan peterson says lobsters have serotonin or something so just get one of those idk

I felt touched on multiple levels watching this video <3 I definitely wouldn't practically not call myself an artist, but you hit some pretty deep stuff there home-schooled kids wouldn't understand. I've read a lot of shit, seen a lot of shit, had to endure a lot of shit to very definitely tell you this is not the shit I've had to endure others claim as 'real' art. This shit was real and even if you weren't meaning for it to be, 'twas VERY artistic.

I never played this game before and I still love it. Its so fun. Maybe its just a nostalgia for old games in general but the game is solid and fun. I get so overwhelmed with modern games and drop them fast. But old titles are just fun and relaxing. Not perfect, but sooo fun

Planet Zoo, in every way is higher fidelity than Zoo Tycoon 2 But I played for a few hours and put it down bc it's too complex and too much. The low poly models of guests and animals. The GRID for placing down any objects in the zoo. There's such enjoyment in the aesthetic of Zoo Tycoon 2 that I really enjoy and it makes me happy.

I had the exact same feeling with Planet Zoo. I still play Zoo Tycoon 2, I always end up coming back to it because it’s so simple and fun. Planet Zoo was just too much, and I don’t want a game where I have to worry too much, you could get away with a bad zoo pretty easily in ZT2 😂

This meant a lot to me. I don't know if I can say this because I actually never played the game. I didn't have a computer. But I would spend hours upon hours watching a youtuber by the name of bestinslot play it. I remember longing to get the game myself while watching him, but to this day I sadly never got to play it.

i remember getting so mad when people had downloads in their zoos on youtube because i was a dumb 8 year old and didn’t know how to get them. i wanted more dinosaurs so badly. i have the same issue with planet zoo. i want to like it but its actually over complex for me. i like how simple zoo tycoon is but man the graphics are hard to look at sometimes. i’m glad im not the only one who feels that way about it. it’s just overwhelming sometimes. i think having some limits actually lets you be more creative because it forces you to adapt

One of the best games I've ever played. I still have it on my PC to this day. Piqued my creativity aswell as taught me so much about Zoology. But what's funny is that even after playing hundreds of hours of my life into that game i still didn't knew some stuff discussed in this video like gene research for extinct animals lol. This game will forever hold a special place in my heart.
