The Strangereal Saga of the Ace Combat universe are perfect. Still have my heart for AC2, AC04, ACZero and ACX. Honestly so happy that AC04 got a perfect rating. For me, this game will always have a place in my heart. It wasn't just my childhood, it taught me just what war was. I could easily relate to the boy in the story. The idea of war being common to me was a myth, I believed war was just some tale that people make for movies in some far away land, never realizing that it was happening in the present pretty much at all times. This game taught me what pilots go through in battles, taught me to respect not only my friends but enemies too, that they are just as much human as I am, even if I see them as my enemy. It was also my first realistic air combat game and I always loved it. Even to this day, as a grown adult I get shivers when facing Stonehenge and straight up start shaking when the opening song of Megalith begins, and always felt a sense of relief upon shooting down a Yellow, knowing I took down a tough opponent and threat to my wingmen. The sense of accomplishment always rang loud for me after critical fights and cheering with the game's own voices. This game pretty much defined and solidified my love of gaming and I will never forget it. Apologies for the long comment and if you read the whole thing, thank you for that.
