What model 4-runner? Any stock 4-runner will be fine. The biggest determiner is your tires.

Light truck tires would serve you well on those trails, as the rocks can spell hell on the sidewalls. A 2" lift would be nice as well (but not required). Biggest thing? Go slow and in low.

Thanks for the input. I’ll make sure I throw on a fresh set of AT tires before attempting this trail. I also have a modest Bilstein 6112/5160 lift already.

@@genevicente You will be fine. Might help if you go with someone in case you need a spotter. It's easier and more scenic I think if you go from Telluride to Ouray. A nice event would be to go from Ouray to Telluride over Ophir Pass, camp and the next day back over Imogene Telluride to Ouray. It's amazing.
