How poignant to experience this document about one of the very greatest films that will ever be made, and to learn of the similarities between Naomi's earlier history in L.A. and that of her haunting character. It's overwhelming...

We had a couch just like that, cooking was learned early. Family was everything, our neighbors were Irish, German, Jewish, Black, Puerto Rican and everything else. We learned from each other & looked out for each other. It was a glorious time to be alive ❤

I just saw this movie in 2024 - I love it. I miss GOOD films like this. Lindsay is also in an episode of the reboot of Columbo...and she was GREAT in that too! Very professional actress, she adds a lot to her roles.

I did not realize that that was Scorsese's parents! I don't really recognize his father but I like him, just from this documentary. And I grew up fishing with a Italian and Sicilian Americans, and she feels so familiar to me like my friend's Mom. She was in Goodfellas, I mean I didn't realize that she was his Mom that's so crazy and so cool. No wonder he's so cool you know, so glad I saw this. What a beautiful family.

I love the accents and how much flavor and culture their neighborhood has and had everything is so sanitized now. A lot of people are starting to talk the same because we're more homogeneous because of technology I think.... Vocal fry and uptalk , ethnic and regional accents are dying

I’m full blooded Italian born in the U.S.in 1963. My grandparents were from Italy. Unfortunately I didn’t get to know my grandmother and grandfather on my father’s side. As an infant my grandmother (my mother’s mother) held me once while she was in the hospital dying from cancer. I got to be around my grandfather (mother’s father). On my mother’s side my grandmother had 18 babies, 4 were miscarried, but I had 13 aunts and uncles combines (and then my mother. I was raised with a lot of traditional Catholic ways of life. I had 1 brother and 2 sisters. We used to make pasta by hand and my mother’s pasta sauce would simmer on the stove for up to 3 days. I loved my Aunt Mary’s meatballs and my mother’s too! This is an enjoyable video!
