Hi there buddy, research is always the key, I'd practice with your pan and put some sand and gravels In a mix with 2 or 3 fishing weights. If you can find the weights after panning the gravels out, your on the right track. Secondly, look for inside bends with gravel bars at a river. The heavies drop out here. Bedrock is the lowest point any heavy gold will come to rest. It weighs more than anything else in a typical river. Lead is about 11g per cubic cm Gold is about 19.4g per cubic cm Lead is a good indicator that you are on a potential gold line. Keep me informed of your progress buddy

Hey really intrigued by your videos, do you sell the gold? How much would today's catch be worth?
@MrDazP1adv3ntures
@MrDazP1adv3ntures 11 күн бұрын
Hi Dan, I don't sell the gold that I find. Some people put 0.25g of panned gold into a bag of river gravels (500g) and sell it at around £27 per bag of "Pay dirt" for the enthusiast to pan all the gold out again. Therefore they are selling gold at over £100/gram. The current spot price for gold is £61/g So even finding a few specs on a session at the river, could probably be classed as about £6 based on finding 0.1g

Yep 3885, it's not for the profit, but more to answer the call of the wild, and harmlessly persuade it to give up a tiny bit of it's treasure. Like blackberry picking or fishing.

Hi Dan, from my experiences, I have met many people who are enthusiasts and love the great out doors as recreational panners. They all share a passion and a quest to learn about how the gold came to be. From my perspective, it's not about the money. There always will be others who see things in a different light though. But you get that in all walks of life.

Regardless of gold, this is now my favourite Scottish stay over ❤

@MrDazP1adv3ntures 11 күн бұрын
You've hit the nail on the head Sophie, everything here glistens like nothing else. Reminds me of Canada and the Klondike but it's on our own patch. Gold is unique. It has a lustre the same in the open light as well as in shade. It is also very heavy and will stay put when compared to lighter river sediments. It will not crush either, like pyrite does.

@MrDazP1adv3ntures
@MrDazP1adv3ntures 5 күн бұрын
@mouldytbags They are pretty good yes and were designed to catch the smaller gold like what we find in our rivers. A few of my friends use similar designs and they trust them. I'd do frequent clean ups though if the riffles get full of heavies. Some people prefer dream mats nowadays too but a sluice is only as good as the ground that you are working.

What documents do you need to go gold panning in Scotland or England?
@MrDazP1adv3ntures
@MrDazP1adv3ntures 17 күн бұрын
There are a few places in Scotland where you can easily apply for a permit to pan certain estates and their water courses. Restrictions may be attached but this will be defined in the permit it's self. Recreational panning by the hobbiest and enthusiast does take part in many locations up and down the country regardless.

@CarCosmeticsChannel Hi, it's always best to seek permission to access a spot on a river as a recreational panner but I ask myself this question. Do people who swim in rivers, have picnics beside rivers and dive in off the rocks or kayak ask for permission . We are all doing something we enjoy. Sometimes if you are out of sight and out if mind, no one will know you are there, so to speak. You will always see signs up saying no fishing though .
