@@PatriciaPlunk some counties in MD have, and you would not believe the holy outrage howler monkeys shouting outrage at the moon over this. They've clearly never done a cleanup.

You have to pay 10 cents for each bag. I wonder if a lot of people at self check out just steal them. But I have noticed an improvement in the amount of plastic bags floating around. I was really glad when they did that. I just wish that they're totally not available ever.

In Poland, no one at the checkout counters asks if we want a bag (it is paid) and in such Norway it is the norm. What is later seen in the statistics of plastic bag consumption in favor of Poland. In Poland or Germany, the norm is that people go shopping with their bags. Since there are restrictions on single-use plastic in the EU you can see an improvement in the environment but there is still a lot of work to do.

The amount of single-use plastics produced every single day is unfathomable, until we stem the tide and stop this stuff being produced this is just a drop in the bucket. This stuff never goes away it only accumulates and we're just shifting it around when it's cleaned up and buried in a landfill, we really need to stop producing and using this stuff but that would take global government actions and I don't see that happening anytime soon. All you can really do is on a personal level try to limit its use and don't buy it, anything from plastic bottles to chip bags. But hey, at least Maryland banned styrofoam so eventually we'll stop seeing that stuff

I do plan to come back with a friend when it's cooler to clean this up. It was in the upper 80s and very muggy so it would have been terrible yesterday, plus the insects. It's not going anywhere, I'll get to it.

Is been so hot its been hard to get out. Summers are always tough, I much prefer cooler weather. Less bugs, less poison ivy, less sweat!

I think the pro is worth it in my opinion. I have enjoyed it, but I may be selling mind soon as I move on to new things. I have not had any issues with the pro, so I can fully recommend that one over the mechanical boards.

I grew up in Linthicum, and man the trash is so bad in that area its out of control. MD looks like a trash heap, its very depressing at times. Wall-E world, here we come.

Oh good thought. I was not sure what it could have been, but I left it on the beach for now, maybe I'll grab it on the next cleanup.

Yep! Too busy to clean it up properly so it just sits there until heavy rains (or snow here) washes it away. If the rain won't move it, the snow plow will come winter time, and then its closer to the rivers when the melt / thaw comes.

Yep, I hate the typical Chick Fil A hole tossers. Its the same old folks, over and over again.

Nah, a guy I help out pretty often easily 10x what I pickup. He's retired and he gets out every day and cleanups up a ton. Hundreds of bags a month easily.
