The whole Schenker brother rivalry has been weird (for those of us who lived through those years). One can’t play worth a crap, but has world wide fame. The other, FAR superior the musician and guitarist, is much less known. Guitarists world wide don’t even consider the former. Yet most all would aspire to the later’s ability, touch, and (dare we pray?), tone. Michael has been a musician’s example of Stoicism - do what I am, not what others want me to be.

Скорпионс- это прежде всего голос Клауса Майне. Без Клауса вряд ли Скорпионс заняли б такое огромное место в рок-музыке. Очень жаль, что Майклу не встретился на пути такой же выдающийся вокалист .

Michael's always been the prettiest guitar player. The classic live u f o album all the solos on that album are beautiful. The Thing about Michael is like all great guitar players os that everyone of his solos Are improvised. He has never done the same solo start to finish the same twice, ever. Yes he has specific melody riffs in the solos that he incorporates into them most time, some of them more than others. Listening to this on my phone I can't hear the bass but in about three seconds I knew it was rock bottom. There's some similar rIffage( I think I just made that one up) going on, which gave it away, but very different than any other version i've heard of rock bottom.

Jesus, this guy fucking KILLS IT! And you know what I love the most about it is that he’s a goddamn geezer and still destroying everything in his path AND doing beautifully, tastefully, melodically. Old guys rule and Michael Schenker rules the old guys.

One of his most underrated talents is his background counter Melodie’s (not sure what you call it), on all his studio music which are never recreated live !

I was privileged to be front row at the waist high stage of the Kabuki theatre in San Francisco mid 80’s. Michael would go down the stage letting us strum the guitar and he would go into a riff with it. Priceless memories and time. Always a fan

He plays guitar solos that you can actually listen to every note. Its not a bunch of flashy nonsense but it's music to your ears. He does awesome slides and phrases. He doesn't use a bunch of effects either.

this solo scene from one of the greatest guitar player from UFO, Scorpon to noe MSG brings back so much memories dating back to my high school years: you know, after ufo, michael resurfaced totally equiped with so much so arsenals, and just like the new album shows he was armed and ready; as soon as the album hit the public market and i ran out and bought one came home and loaded on to my record player, and lo and behold, his new tunes with a new singer, they all kicked ass; i, at the age of 40, still love listening to him play; i love him and i miss him ...

Wow. First time I seen this solo on KZfaq. Thank you for the download. Now my comment. Michael has always been a great guitarist. I’m a believer of European blood has something to do with their abilities and talent. Being German, I’m sure he listened to many great German composers. Anyways I’m German and Mr Schenker is a absolutely incredible guitar player with so much gift and natural talent. God bless Deutschland.

No way you can rehearse that. He's making it up as he plays. Love Michael and other guitar players that have mastered improvisation be it Blues, Classical, Jazz, Rock, whatever. Never hear the same solo twice from these players.

We saw Michael Schenker when he had first left the U.K, after his Dad let him out of the house...He was touring with U.F.O. on their first U.S. tour. It was one of those tours where UFO was opening for AC/DC and it was a time about the love of the music...and the musician's love of their music. Michael Schenker was onstage at the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee doing a solo with his steel wawa pedal. And, if you've ever had the pleasure of seeing Michael Schenker playing onstage looking down into his wawa pedals, as if he's looking for some lost chords, with his blond hair shadowing the dust from the the pedals...and by the time he ends his sojourn on the last chord, he left us literally gasping! We were so caught up in his performance, we didn't realize our heads were almost to the floor, between our skirts! He was amazing, and so unaware of his incredible playing. In fact, by the time we realized where we were from our seats, as he was just that mesmerizing, Bonn Scott, Malcolm & Angus Young had come out from behind the backstage curtains, just to take him in...from the solo lighting grifting around the pedal dust as he bowed us in with his chords. Unforgettable concert. Michael Schenker was so unassuming brilliant until we just couldn't get enough in our ears to leave it alone. Mary Ella

I love Michael...have since I first heard him in the mid-late 1970s. I've seen him multiple times and he has never disappointed. A unique and extraordinary talented musician. Can only imagine the musical thoughts in his head! Also, the part of this particular solo from apx 3:20 on...awesome to think that he has been playing it for over 45 years! True quality is timeless.

I once had a black velvet jacket, with a silver and black MSG patch on the breast pocket (like a school blazer...), obtained from a concert of MSG that I attended back in the day (early 80's). I wore this jacket to visit my uncle (himself visiting from Australia...). He asked me what the patch meant. . I said that the patch represents - ''Michael's School of Guitar '' He still remains one of my largest influences on guitar technique, his precision and melodic nuances were perfect, certainly to me at the time. One of Rock's greatest legends by far.
