of beauty and breaking by Amir Sulaiman i have no way to clothe what i have laid naked no way to hide the burning sun i am nearly unconscious barely existing love is pressing me out of living out of dying who would want their heart broken but now that mine has been split open i wonder who would want their heart closed ever can you drink from the coconut without striking it can you smell the aloeswood without lighting it so much sweetness is violent so much beauty in breaking can you birth without bleeding and crying and breathing and dying i’ve been lying living on the outside of life bleeding my gums on the coconut’s shell until i smashed my hardened heart against harder rocks living is a labor dying is an art make no mistake i am injured ruptured my heart a sweet sun warmed mango lying open its juice unruly flagrant sultry fragrant insane and sacred noble and naked verses like vagrants strangers in places that were once home i no longer have one of those i am in nowhere never nothing neither past nor future now i am nearly unconscious barely existing love is pressing me out of living out of dying

Afwan but the story of Umar R.A. burying hia daughter alive in jahiliyya has been proven to be fabricated. There is no chain of narration and those who initially began narrating the story were from the rawafidh. Secondly, his eldest child is none other than Hafsa R.A., the wife of our Beloved SAWS. if Umar R.A. was of that mindset, Hafsa would have been buried alive, audhibillah. I love and respecr sh. Ibrahim a great deal but this story of Umar has been proven to be false.

This is the dua that Shaykh related in this lecture: أَعُوذُ بِوَجْهِ اللهِ الكَرِيمِ وَ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ اللّاتِي لا يُجاوِزُهُنَّ بَرٌّ وَ لا فاجِرٌ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا وَ شَرِّ مَا ذَرَأَ فِي الأَرْضِ وَ شَرِّ مَا يُخْرُجُ مِنْها وَ مِنْ فِتَنِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَ مِنْ طَوارِقِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ إِلَّا طَارِقاً يَطْرُقُ بِخَيْرٍ يَا رَحْمَنُ A’ūdhu biwajhillāhil-karīm wa bikalimātihit-tāmmātil-lātī lā yujāwizuhunna barrun wa lā fājir min sharri mā yanzilu minas-samā’ wa min sharrri mā ya’ruju fīhā wa sharri mā dhara’a fīl-arḍ wa sharri mā yakhruju minhā wa min fitanil-layli wan-nahāri wa min ṭawāriqil-layli wan-nahāri illā ṭāriqin yaṭruqu bikhayrin, Ya Raḥman With the noble countenance of Allah and with the perfect words of Allah-that none pious or corrupt can breach-I seek refuge from the evil of what descends from the sky and from the evil of what ascends it, and the evil of what is spread in the earth and the evil of what emerges from it, and from the trials of night and day, and from all things which come by night and day except those that come with good. O, Most Merciful!
