there is one play in all of soccer where if the referees are in the correct position, they are out of position. this is it.

this is the perfect example of how a player can "get the ball first" and still foul an opponent. No card though. Red card for DOGSO had he not got the ball first, but since he did, the goal scoring opportunity was taken away before the foul, not by the foul.

I would have also cautioned the attacker for delaying the restart.

Pretty false scenarios of limited use IMO. No sound. All close to assistant. All assistants have to use ball kick sound as passer and attacker often not in same field of vision.

I don’t like that this is considered a deliberate play on the ball by the defender thus negating the offside. The defender had almost no time to react yet invariably kicked it into an area where the offside attacker could directly gain an advantage.

I would love to see more comments on here for input, but this looks like a clear save. Offsides.

The reason of the assistant's decision could be that he saw like the nearer attacker touched the ball. Stopping the video shows that if he did it would not be offside. The assistant wasn't sure, so he kept his flag down. Talking about this behaviour, he did the right thing even if the call was wrong. If you are not sure in something, you let the play go.

The offside offence happened when they passed into the penalty area, not after the shot. Can be seen at 0:26.

The assistant raised his flag too early. That's the problem nowadays. They put up their flags when the attacker goes for the ball, but that's not an offside offense.

That was a deliberate play by the defender. The goal should stand.

I would not raise my flag. The defender played the ball without any interference by the attacker.

After 6 years of refereeing I would not flag this. The defender played the ball without being affected by the attacker. The only case I would raise my flag was if the attacker made a loud noise to disturb the defender.

That was a bad call. The defender deliberately played the ball without being interfered by the attacker.
