Wow! What precise scissor work! Thank you so much for this video! I have an American Cocker Spaniel and was wondering if this method would apply also to Cocker feet? The tip you gave about using the scissors over the comb to trim the legs is fantastic! Such a great idea! I have been learning to groom my Cocker at home just by watching KZfaq groomers and I must say that your 2 Cocker head trim videos are the ones that have helped me the most in doing my Cocker's head! You are a great groomer! I hope to see more Cocker videos! 🐶🐾

Oh my gosh...what a great video! I just watched your Cocker puppy video and now this one, and I am learning so much from your great work and such wonderful tips! I started to groom my 7 year old American Coker Spaniel at home in the last year and it has been a challenge, specially doing the head right. This video is so informative and helpful in my grooming journey! The head shots from the top are excellent and the way you explain how to place your hands around the crown is a great tip! And this boy is just gorgious and yes, he looks like Elvis, but then again, Elvis was gorgious! I wish you could do a full Cocker Spaniel grooming video! Thank you so much for this amazing work! Love Love Love Cockers!!! 🥰🐕🐾

Thank you for this very informative video! Very clear explanations, and what a gorgious puppy!!! I started grooming my own adult American Cocker Spaniel myself in the last year and I am NO professional groomer for sure, so I have been learning by following groomers on KZfaq. I find the head difficult to do so I must say that your video has given me some excellent tips! Wonderful work on that beautiful puppy! 🥰

Do you use any drying aid/post bath conditioning sprays or no styling sprays at all?

I don’t use any additional products after the bath, simply because I find that many products attract dirt and I wouldn’t want to add anything that makes it more difficult for clients. But really I guess it’s just personal preference.

I really appreciate how you go over the anatomy and how to feel for the different parts of the head, this is the best explanation of a schnauzer head I've seen so far! Even as an intermediate stylist, this was super helpful!!

How do you recommend trimming the bottom of the ears when they get too long? Especially for an adult dog.

We do have a video on doing an adult American Cocker head but if you don't want to watch that, a quick overview would be to make sure that you have the clients permission to shorten the length of the ear. Then cover the ear leather with your fingers so you know where flesh is. After that you can scissor rounded or straight across depending on owner preference.

I hate when groomers blow on dog's faces, even for things like getting them to shake their head so you can see how the ears are sitting. There are too many dogs that can potentially get triggered by that and lunge right at your face to bite you, and you were right in their bite zone for that to happen.

April, Thank you for your concern, however you are not taking into account the length of the grooming loop, my hand on her chin, or the distance my face is to the dog, along with the temperament of this dog. All of which is done very safely not only for the dog but me.

Are there any coat colors that you prefer doing a 7f with or 7f reverse on for the muzzle vs the 10? Or do you 10 all your american cockers?
