Crazy how i still remember this nearly note for note nearly 30 years ago. What a great piece!

There were cover versions and remixes galore years ago, they don't seem to happen much nowadays.. Shame.

It's amazing how such creative pieces of music were produced on a simple 8 bit computer with a fantastic synth chip.. only to be skipped seconds into it after a 5min load time. I played this game when I was a kid, but I rarely ever listened to the full intro track.

Для тех кто хочет прослушать максимально близко к своим воспоминаниям PAL версии SEGA: выставьте скорость воспроизведения "другая" и 0,85. Так как PAL версия была на 17% медленнее NTSC.

The perfect music for playing Tetris, but Nintendo will always get the plaudits because the version of Tetris that accompanies this masterpiece of chip music isn't actually very good.

My first computer was an Amstrad CPC464. I chose it because the graphics were colourful. When I heard the Superbowl loader on the C64, I was beginning to regret my choice.

Epic track. Really captures the tension, dynamism, and grinding relentlessly-onward nature of Tetris.

I remember sitting next to the guy who created it. He asked me and a friend if we liked it!!! It got a big thumbs up!!! We didn't realise at the time how lucky we were to have the chance to meet him.

Wow! This is amazing! When I watched the video, I thought there are Sawtooth, Rectangle and Noise overlapping each other in the same voice, and I thought: WTF! How is this possible if it is not digitized sound (which I know it isn't). Now when I watched it in slow motion, I can see that they are not overlapping, but interspersed, so they give the illusion of multiple voices in the same channel. I didn't know this is possible, as I thought this can only be done with i.e. drums or such, where you have distinct pauses in between which you can use to inject other sounds. Really great work!

Hats off... between three and a half minutes and six and a half minutes we have near musical perfection. I love the single notes melody, which returns after nineteen and three quarter minutes. It's not all great, but I keep returning to listen to it nevertheless. A 25 minute epic is way too much for a simple game like Tetris. But I'm glad we have it.

This tune is my favorite of all time! The filters work like a charm! The sounds are not from this Earth, and I'm thrilled every time I listen to it. When I was a youngster, I recorded it onto a cassette tape and carried it as my Walkman's only cassette to listen to. I like Jeroen Tel's compositions very, very much. It's not just a matter of nostalgia, but they are really good.

Let's face it, the game was too slow for it ever to be a classic. But the music and graphics were first rate. The music creates an atmosphere of dread, while the graphics were otherwordly. If only I knew where to put those blasted oilrigs !

The guy who composed this is my kind of musician. Superb stuff. Listening to the beat at the start is MOST rewarding, but unfortunately it doesn't last. An epic opus for such simple game doesn't seem to fit.

This tune / game brings back a bad memory for me. I ran to my local games store as soon as I heard they had it in. Loaded it up and it didnt work. Turns out the C128 tape was cut short in mastering so I ended up with a duff copy. Grrrr! Did endf up with an apology letter from Thalamus though which I have still today!
