As someone who grew up in Australia I understand this frustration with pricing differences!! I used to stock up on things like chapstick & shampoo when I came to the US to visit because it was so much cheaper. 😩 I hope you can find a similar option that is more affordable!

Thank you! 😊 This is the stapler I use: a.co/d/6eiyaz4 I will caveat that this stapler folds the prongs flat rather than curved in toward the center like most staplers, which you may or may not prefer.

why dont you do both ends with zipper tab instead of one
@OKSew474
@OKSew474 3 күн бұрын
Hi Ruth! You absolutely can do a tab at each end, I demonstrate that in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nsmDebGqlr66eIE.htmlsi=lNwnm7ncEBSmCSAT I prefer to do a turned zipper at one end as it allows the finished pouch to open wider than it would with a tab there, but it’s entirely personal preference. 😊

Hi there I found your video really helpful to get those nice boxes corners. But I have a question, if I want to make a straight bag where it goes straight up from the bottom. My corners are already 90° like the example you showed at 1:49. Would this still work to get those flat corners if mine looks like yours in this time stamp? Or would I still need to correct that angle ?
@OKSew474
@OKSew474 3 күн бұрын
Your instinct is correct! You would not need to correct anything as that is already 90 degrees, you can use the same techniques for the actual sewing though such as how to line up the seams and avoid the twist in the bottom seam.
@OKSew474
@OKSew474 3 күн бұрын
What you do need to consider is if there is a box at the bottom but not at the top that there may be a mismatch in the depth of your bag from the top to the bottom (depending on the method of zipper installation), which would result in a bag that is narrower at the base than the opening, angling in at the sides, so the finished bag would not go straight up at the side.

I made a new bag (Harlequin Bag from Sew Modern Bags). The waviness is much better after following your tips, but I still have a tiny bump. I’m wondering if you can block a zipper like I do with hand knits. I was thinking of pinning the zipper completely straight, spraying it with water and letting it completely dry. Is this something others have tried?
