This dance sequence is variant of B&B by Robert Cromartie that inserts a partner roll-away between the courtesy turn and the star right.

At various places we see Lewis Lamb (fiddler) and his daughter Donna (guitar) who bring back wonderful memories of visiting Berea College when I was musician for Ilfracombe Morris and Clog dancers in 1980. Lewis and Donna drove the two vans loaned to us by Berea College. I loved their music. Sadly we didn't get enough time off for me to pick up much of Lewis's fiddle playing. I got as far with the Orange Blossom Special as running my bow up and down the strings, which Lewis does early on. And I was dead chuffed to be called Chri-yus 🙂

Superb performance!! Also, have you considered expanding your repertoire to similar or same dances from.rest of W Europe, NE Europe, Mexico, C + S America, Caribbean, Seychelles, Mauritius, Philippines, etc.? Fortunately, youtube has performances from all of above, whether people speak + sing in Spanish, English. French, Dutch, etc. all.enjoying Quadrilles but with own varieties of music.

Hi, Bob! I will be showing part of this video this fall to several 5th grade students as part of a lesson on Revolutionary-era dances in preparation for their upcoming field trip to colonial Williamsburg, VA and for a dance recital that they will be performing for their school and their families. I am particularly excited to find a simplified rendition of the Grand March, plus excellent examples of almost all the steps and figures they will be learning in class; it's nice to see a visual in addition to the written/oral explanation. Thanks for posting this. Do you also have any dance videos/resources/music for teaching the minuet?--Kat DiFoxfire Wilson P.S. I miss dancing with you.

looks to me like A1: right hand star, partners gypsy rt 1/2 way, turn over your left shoulder into A2: left hand star, partners gypsy left 1/2 way, turn over your rt shoulder to face across into the middle B1: mad robin, reverse mad robin B2: facing your neighbors up or down the set (1's down and 2's up) facing your neighbor balance in place rt and left, take hands in an ocean wave across the set, (1's in middle, 2's on outside) balance rt and left, neighbors allemande left all the way around and into a new star. Ladies are always behind their partners in the star. partners are facing each other for the mad robin.

Yes, the next one will be Father's Day, June 20th. We plan to do 2 in July, and 2 in August if we don't see a spike in cases, or if the guidelines change to be more restrictive.
