has this gotten better? rode it when it first opened, and it was totally worthless and a waste of time!
@MountainRidingАй бұрын
@rzicc I've ridden it twice. Top section was muddy with water crossings once which sucked, but the bottom 2/3 has been great for me both times. I heard it used to be sandier. What didn't you like about it when it was new?
@rziccАй бұрын
@@MountainRidingfirst off, it more of a path than actual trail making. Big difference. Nothing but lame switchbacks that you have to climb back up as your coming down. What a waste of money just to “ make the trail longer”. I want a DH trail, not a XC trail. That’s why it’s not busy and very poorly rated by everyone but locals who want the money and XC people
@MountainRidingАй бұрын
@rzicc Yes, everyone should be aware that, like the Whole Enchilada, there is a good bit of pedaling. Still more than 6k vert of down. Calling it a path is a bit misleading. It's still the same trail, no need for you to give it another try.
@kentloar2175Ай бұрын
Is this the high road (out and back)? Or did you do a loop?
@MountainRidingАй бұрын
@kentloar2175 it's just the high side. Went from Marble to the Geneva Lake trailhead and back. I've gone to the Crystal Mill on the low side as well, but there are a couple miles in between the Mill and Geneva lake trailhead I have not tried.

Aftermath was awesome when I visited but Sky Pilot was a little more my paygrade. 😂🤙 Amazing time there!

@tyester Nice work. Sky Pilot isn't an easy trail either! Some solid features there too.

Thank you for all your videos, I can't imagine someone was recording trails here in our valley 😅 I'll take this trail sooner, and I saw your other videos, trails that I have never done! Do you have any bikers group here? I live in Carbondale, just let me know, and thanks again
@MountainRiding3 ай бұрын
I know there is a tuesday night ride group, but due to my work schedule I don't usually get to join. I would suggest getting on the RFMBA (Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association) email list. They send out frequent emails on trail conditions, meet ups for trail building, and fundraiser events (parties) that are worth checking out. Great organization to be a member of, and a great source for local ride info. They're at rfmba.org

Not quite. The main network isn't open yet. I want to say April 15th or May 1st it's open conditions dependent. Oso's is open, but we've had a lot of moisture lately. Front side of red hill in Carbondale is probably good to go though.

This is not part of the Steamboat resort, but a separate company that goes to backcountry terrain on Buffalo Pass. I'm not sure what the names are for each line.
