I was obsessed. I started collecting during the 4th series and my cousins sent me 1-3. I didn't get many of the 4th but I recognize every one of the 5th series. most of 6. some of 7..more of 8 for some reason. Much less of 9. CENTS for sure. 10th I only remember Bum Beggar Beans, Rudens and Uncle Bum's rice. 11th only Gulp oil , Cult 45, Bash and Fib. i don't recognize any of the 12rh or 13th. .I wonder if that is a West Coast issue or a growing up and chasing girls issue? I have never seen any of the 14th & 15th series even in restrospective. Those are some funny ideas. Thanks for showing the 16th. I had heard of them but never saw any. This was great. I'll bet your photo pages are by 20th Century Plastics. lol

My mom threw out a lot of my collections of things ... especially stickers stuffed in cardboard boxes. But now I don't have to buy a book or collect them back. I can always come to this video and experience a full collection.

@@Corporations8MyBabyglad to help! I started collecting in the 4th series, too, when I was in 4th grade when I first saw them in 7/11. I had to go back and get the earlier ones where I could find them. Never saw the 16th series till I bought a box with a friend in the early 90s and we were both able to complete a set for each of us.

Think about it, this was on his birthday!! If he wanted to, he could have taken the day off and went anywhere and done xyz… but he performed in Concord Ca?! (Of all places) if anyone has been to Concord, it’s not exactly a place you’d imagine Sting would want to be at on his birthday (maybe the surrounding cities and areas would be different though) but Concord is not exactly a destination or hang out place for Sting. So why? Did he really need the money, was it an excuse to get away from Trudie because well I heard she can be a piece of work! I’m not sure how he’s put up with her all these years? One thing about Libras is they’re great at being in denial even when something is painfully obvious. Could be that, or there was something he needed to revisit… a certain someone who lives in that vicinity that he has something unresolved with and needed to be at least somewhat near them to get some sort of resolution?

Stuart Copeland is a madman. I'd listen to ANY band he was in, even today at ~70 years old. Quite a charismatic raconteur too. I didn't appreciate how good he was back in the day. I think an extended 'behind the scenes' documentary of their next comeback tour would be a hoot. The 3 personalities are perfect for comedy-drama gold. (Make it happen please guys).

The first wave was in 1973. A single pack was 20 cents . I don't recall which ones were "hard to find" BUT , DAMN that "Duzn't Do Nothing" , "Maddie Boy" and "Corned Beef Hash" were in every single pack ! Over and Over..... I had Lavirus and Band Ache , no problem. I collected them up to the 5th series or so . I did miss out on some GREAT ONES: G.I. Toe, Shot Wheels, Playskull, Killy Putty , Ghoul Humor. You have some ones here that I never saw before !!

I made this video a few years ago as a way to share my wacky packs with a friend but am so glad that so many others have been able to enjoy it, too, and reminisce. I completed the first 15 series as a kid but never saw the 16th series since they didn't release it in our area so a friend and I were able to pick up a box in '91 from a card dealer and were able to complete two 16th series sets from the box when mixed with my friend's own 16th series partial collection. We used to advertise for sales of our doubles back then that we used to pick up other wacky's that we wanted or needed and actually were pretty well known in the wacky pack world back then, which we found pretty amusing. Our running joke became, "No Ludlows!" when so many people asked if we had any of the early stickers that had the camel on the back sheet of the card. There's a small but obsessed group of collectors who care about that sort of thing.

Too bad your sound quality isn't so great for clarity, my 1plus ( 1+ ) smart phone would and has done far better than this. Perhaps the acoustics there were terrible ?
@oskibear19889 ай бұрын
We were up in the rafters of the tavern. The sound quality of the recording was actually better than in person. If you were expecting to pick up CC's vocals better in particular better, it seemed that he held back because hitting the amount of high notes in his music has to be tough at his age, like it would be for any singer. The only time he really seemed to go all in was with Think of Laura in the finale. It was also his 2nd show in two nights so that could've factored in.

This was such a special surprise to run across this interview! This is linda, Ron and I are lying in bed at midnight listening, laughing, and shedding a tear or two. We have such good memories of pastor and Kay. Ron is always quoting something pastor Allen said in a sermon. our favorite claim to fame was that we were the first couple he married. We got married in Berkeley at an episcopalian church because of the location and beauty. The minister officiated alongside Harley in his white robe and Harley commented to me that he thought that the Episcopal minister looked even prettier than me. Great people we will always treasure.

He sings really well, too. There’s a video of just him playing an acoustic guitar and singing the Fountains of Wayne song “Hackensack.” It’s quite lovely. I’m surprised he isn’t included as an additional backing vocalist with Sting. (Stewart Copeland used to croak backing vocals back in The Police days.)
