What dive operators go to this wreck? What’s the depth?
@blakerobert13Ай бұрын
We went with Southern Florida Dive Headquarters out of Boynton Beach. The wreck is about 50 to 75 feet deep. Awesome dive forsure! 😊

Is the toilet still outside of the wreck? I haven't been down in a couple of decades, but I remember a toilet was put right outside the wreck and it was funny.

😍 As soon as i saw the floaty bed on the water, before it even said the salt flats, i was like "hey!! thats the flats! So pretty!" (I live right by there. Have my whole life!) Its one of the most beautiful, surreal places to experience! The mirage effects are INSANE, right?!! I hope you guys enjoyed it! If you didnt, you did it wrong! Lol. But, from the looks of it, I'd bet my money on you fully enjoyed yourselves! Did you guys remember to put a lock on the gate that goes around the "money tree"? 💰 (you cant miss it! Its literally the ONLY thing that isnt there from "nature", and its literally right off the side of the road, on the north side!) once you know about it, you cant not* do it! Its for good luck! 😉 (the money tree is an art installation, built decades ago!) People who know about it, put a lock on the fencing that surrounds it, on their way to Wendover, to gamble their paychecks away, in hopes of coming back home with more than they went with! (Isnt that point of all of it, in ALL scenarios tho?!! Lol) BEAUTIFUL video btw! Thankyou for this! It made my whole day! ❤️

@@blakerobert13 I did indeed enjoy your video! I love seeing people make memories out on the flats! I wish my childhood memories could've been recorded! (Not that you recorded this as a "childhood" memory. Lol.) But back then, cellphones didn't exist. Camcorders were something that poor people who were on welfare (like my family) rarely owned, and VHS tapes just didnt "hold up" in humid areas. CDs & DVDs didnt exist either! In fact, VHS was the "high tech" stuff, and Beta's were only just, gone "out of style" (in a non-clothing sense). Cassette tapes were what we had, for recording music, and it was all about listening to the radio, waiting for our favorite songs to come on, and hitting the "record" button fast enough that it didnt cut off the first few notes of the song! And the Salt Lake waters actually went all the way up to the highway! Obviously the water was never deep, but it did feel like we were driving on the water! Its so heartbreaking to see how far out the water is now, from the hwy, but the salt flats are so cool, that it kind of makes up for it! Lol. Im so glad you guys got to experience just how awesome these flats really are! ❤

@@rannin4372i definitely enjoy making videos I can look back on, but I think there is also something special about just being in the present and not having any electronics too! I would like to go back to the salt flats when they’re covered in water, I’ve seen some pretty cool videos with the reflection from the water!! 😎
@rannin43725 ай бұрын
@@blakerobert13 right?!! Too bad it will never have MORE water. Its only going to continue to have less & less! And i absolutely agree to not always having electronics at every experience! Its a lot more intimate! Whether you're alone, or sharing it with someone else! When you leave your devices behind, you allow yourself to become much more involved in what you're doing! (Idk where exactly you're from..) but the flats are at their most beautiful when its either dead cold winter (below freezing temps, but withOUT snow to cover them..), and deadly mid summer heat! In both climates, and later in the afternoon, with the sun shining down the hardest, the dry flats actually look like a vast, still "pond"! And man is it gorgeous to see! 😍 My sister & I used to swim out to the ships, to touch them while they were docked for loading and unloading, just for the thrill of it! (Lol) We were around, like 10 yrs old. Even as an adult, those ships would be huge! There was one i distinctly remember, looking so much like the "cliché pirate ship", with so many masts, flags, etc. (THOSE are why i wish we had cameras!) It was an incredible sight! Especially at such a young age! They also had (which, they dont have anymore, due to low level of water) but they used to have boats that were for date nights! It was inexpensive and it was a pkg deal, where you get dinner, and "a show"! They would play out a murder mystery scenario, and the whole restaurant was like a part of the show! They had a story plot and you would actively try to solve the murder case! It made for a pretty great date night! Tiny bit of side-info.. i personally never got to try it, due to never actually having $50 to throw away on a date night. But i heard many stories from people i knew and articles they would publish in the local papers! (Our date nights were more like candle lit dinners at the coffee table, and playing games afterwards! We made it work and had a lot of fun doing it! We even included the little ones! Made for some amazing memories!) But the ships were really fun to see out on the water! The flats, as i was saying, (got a bit sidetracked. Lol) during the peak hrs, look like the lake is still full of water! The lake would blend in with the sky, so you can never tell where the water stops & sky begins! Such incredible scenery tho! Also, idk if you were aware of this or not, but the Bingham Copper Mine is literally "across the road" (lol) from the salt lake! Its actually one of the few things that are identifiable from outer space, bcz of how big/deep the mine actually is! Im curious now! When you flew into SLC, did you happen to notice the copper pit? If so, what did you think of that? Its not quite AS BIG as it once was (and recognized for) due to several yrs back, it caved in! So they had to dig it out! But the mining trucks they use down in the pit, are like the size of a house! Its crazy being up close to one of those bad boys, but looking down into the pit, they look like little tonka trucks! Lol. Eesh! I just realized im legit rambling on! I am so sorry! 😱 i apologize for that! Memory lane can get a bit immersive! Lol. If you actually read all that, i want to thank you for doing so! And im really sorry for going on so long! I wasnt paying attention to that! 😬 i hope you have a great night! 😉 And thankyou again, for sharing this video! Ive never really been anywhere, outside of utah. Except for a few trips to California & Las Vegas over the yrs, to see family! So to see my hometown as a destination rhat others see as a desired vacation location, is really pretty cool to me! Lol.

The L-1011 Tristar was my favorite aircraft as well. Interesting this one in the video of the interior missing the center isle seats... Perhaps in the process of a freighter conversion. I do wonder how it wound up on the bottom of the Red Sea? As well the condition on the plane very much intact. Low speed impact? Or perhaps it was ditched overboard from a ship?

@@petermodaffari1142 good guess but it was most likely used as a cargo and then stripped by the government, then used as an artificial reef or sunk on purpose, could not have been a crash
