Great sounding guitars! Josh, can you explain a little more on what you mean by the tops sounding spongy? It's not a term I've heard used to describe a guitar before! TIA.

Sure! The great guitars often have a type of built-in compression when played. It's more of a feel than it is a tone. Thick, round sounding notes that tend to 'bloom' rather than have a fast attack. I hope that makes sense!

The Adirondack top is stiffer and has more headroom. The Traditional neck design is very different than their standard OM neck design. Not just in actual size, but a completely different internal design as well.

The Yamaha FG830 is one of the best guitars on the market. They play as well as some guitars 3X its price range.

I suspect the difference I hear is sitka vs red spruce more than regular vs traditional voicing. Thst said, mentioning the neck, saddle, and finish differences was useful.

Any idea how this body shape stacks up against the 808 models, maybe more specifically the messiah 808 as it's also spruce/rosewood?

At the price they charge, these are the best guitars I have ever played. Sometimes you just want a fun guitar, with mojo and Iris fit that bill.

Great video. Thanks. I plan on getting one but not sure which pick ups to get without actually playing it because they both sound great. I play lead in a blues/classic rock band. Would you recommend the pf or ff?

I think you'd find the PF pickups useful in a rock band. They will give you a bit more cut if you ever need it. Cheers!

Yep I've had the Sigma 000M-15 since 2012 - 12 years and the Sigma 000-R28V since 2014 - 10 years. In that time they have both opened up beautifully and sound fantastic. Don't let the solid back and sides suck you in it's the tops that count and these guitars deliver 100%. Cheers.
