nicely done with modular design. At least done safe compare to others with 3d printing spacers. the problem with this setup especially with higher stacks is the weight. What is the 135mm spacers weight mounted on the bike. I can imagine above 250g made out of solid aluminium

@@ronykuba actually i think there is. One of the simplest ones is to machine some of the not regurerequired material, but the savings are not too big and machining complexity with high spacer will be big. Another option is to make spacers iw lid which overlaps on top of each other this allows to make a shorter spacer stack on each other with more material removed. Last option is to make the final length to size out of carbon with alloy endings but this is very very expansive. Last option is to 3d metal print spacers with weight optimization.

I find it very ugly. the design seems the same for at least ten years, they modified the front following the latest trends, I wonder what research they have done in terms of aerodynamics. I understand looking for things that are refined and different from the usual, but carbon is now a business of the orientals. the skills are in the East. this is demonstrated by the difficulty in innovation that little brands like this have.

I believe the reason why some pros and amateurs (mainly heavier racers) do not like tubeless for racing is during a catastrophic failure such as a hard hit (pinch flat) that creates a large slice deflating quickly and causes the tubeless tire to un-bead. Thus causing it to come off of the rim. I haven't had this happen myself, but have been told this and have seen it in pro races. As for me, I like tubeless, but wonder if racing on latex tubes would be better for less pinch flats. Much appreciated.
@ronykuba
@ronykuba 4 күн бұрын
The very same thing happens with clinchers, so that’s an invalid argument.
@FreeMTrider
@FreeMTrider 4 күн бұрын
@@ronykuba Like I said, it hasn't happened to me, but I have seen it in races. I've never seen a clincher have that happen. And I've been racing the P12 for about 20 years. With that said, I still like tubeless better for pinch flats, so my question is how are latex tubes for pinch flats? Less or about the same?

For those watching in 2024 Park Tool has released the 22.2 and apparently: "The PRS-22.2 is nearly identical to the PRS-22 stand that we originally reviewed April 2017. The most notable update concerns the height and swivel collar. Previously, this was a single plastic piece with two quick-release levers, and now, it is two separate pieces. It’s a fix that Park has “borrowed” from its closest work stand competitor, Feedback Sports, and it’s a welcome change. In our original review, we found this collar fiddly to use and not all that secure. Park Tool PRS-22.2 play It’s the tolerance in this joint that bothers me most. According to Park, the new PRS-22.2 offers tighter tolerances. In addition to the updated clamp, Park state they have tightened the tolerances between the pivot bracket and the beam bracket. This too, is a welcome change, since the original design, as evident in my sample, is prone to a light knocking during use as the stand’s beam tilted back and forth (which occurred even when the central clamp was torqued up tightly). For owners of the PRS-22, they can obtain the updated height and swivel collar by ordering parts #2707.2 (US$21.80) and #2737 (US$16.40). At this stage, there is no (cheap) way to replace the beam hinge for the newer version with a tighter tolerance."
