Thanks for the video. Would love to hear you speak more on this topic, especially on how to strengthen M3. I can only do it quietly (it's also shaky). I'm trying to build consistency and fullness, but I'm struggling. If I keep working on a clean head voice, do you think it will help with making flageolet stronger? Or is there a better way?

I’m glad to hear your critique. This was a competition in their first year of being in EXO. They were criticized for not looking at each other. Which I beg to disagree! And the other criticism was that they were too young to have experienced heartbreak! That really ticked me off. I think the judges just through some stuff out because they didn’t want the guys to win so easily. 😠 Funny fact. They auditioned on the same day with Baekyun following Chen. Baekyun says he sounded like a frog compared to Chen. SM Entertainment must have felt they hit gold with these two being accepted at the same time.

Sorry but this wont work like that, your using your phryngeal resonance there and have a steong head voice, but your studnet has no idea what he is doing. Maybe work on head voice first then work on pharyngeal resonance. Its not goona work if you just keep repeating it to him. He has to build a good foundation first and get rid of the neck tension as well. ❤

Vocals are so tricky and moldable you can probably extend your vocals by exercising it. There are plenty of videos of vocal extensions for males. It might take you a while because you may need to train your nasal and head voice. But it is possible. And most importantly do not say I cannot do it say I can probably do it. When you say I cannot do it you produce a mental blockage and because the mind and the vocals are connected you are already telling it no.

Range maybe a couple steps, but a baritone only needs the high end resonance. Nothing else is written as far as range needed. Only a couple songs go above an A. But also I am old so its already amazing that I have 4 octaves and nothing is written at more than 3 octaves. But thanks for the input and of course correct about 'I can do it' attitude. Lucky I'm retired and can pay attention. @@MaraKapso
