Johnny's voice falls into that same category as Bob Dylan's in that it's not always about singing but story telling. Rotten's voice is a perfect match to the tip of the punk spear in that he was a total misfit and it wasn't an act, he was damaged, he was broken. He's vocal inflection was in key but in a lazy angry way. it's like a half singing half soap box proclaiming type thing.

They (VoB) grew up in a peaceful rural environment with a friendly and close-knit community lifestyle, but the response of many people to the musical path they took turned out to be quite disappointing for them because even the people in their environment dared to persecute them, maybe that’s what made them finally decide to move to the capital, which again might be more surprising, because it turns out the world is not as beautiful as they imagined, with such a background they were able to create inspirational songs. I subscribe to you now, click
@user-eh8xz2wj6h6 ай бұрын
Hi Matt, Mooney, maybe VoB deliberately included subtitles in two languages so that those who sing along can also learn the Indonesian language which is actually very simple in its pronunciation, and yes, I agree, if you listen to this song while driving a car on a hiking road in an inter-city atmosphere, you will sing along imperceptibly because the music seems to invite you to sing along (or maybe it's just my imagination), I like you both

hello Matt, Mooney, I found out about subfacts after reading the coverage of Voice of Baceprot (VoB) by Voice of America (VoA), so I told myself I had to watch their podcast show, which is just a small thing compared to what they did with travelling from Virginia to DC to see VoB and I'm so happy with what you guys are doing with VoB, respect!

I would reconsider mp3s, the sound quality is so much better on a WAV file. Secondly, artists hardly get any money at all off downloads. They have released a two CD set as a tenth Anniversary compilation you might consider buying that has a lot of good stuff. I bought that too. Get the physical product and support them financially.

I'm a huge fan of Mötorhead, Lemmy could write songs about drinking, gambling and living the rock and roll lifestyle, but he could also write songs that were emotionally charged or would make you think. So, my challenge is for you to listen to a song by Mötorhead called Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me. He wrote it because he thought a lot of people missed the meaning behind Aerosmith's Janie's Got a Gun.

You can go and read about every story that's behind the songs. The last stand is about the Swiss Guard and their security of the Pope and the Vatican! You and your friend should listen to the songs Bismarck, The Christmas truce, No bullets fly (animated) and so on. And to get a background and understanding about the songs you should read about the story behind them before listening to them. You can use Google or Wikipedia there.

Just so I'm clear, I never thought at any time in my life, I'd get into metal music. But, as an ex musician (is there such a thing though), I found LOVEBITES on a YT "recommended" list, so listened to "Holy War" live. Since that time, I kind of can't help watching/listening if I see anything of theirs, attracted by the production, with the music, the art, and at 76 years old, into metal... At least LOVEBITES Metal. I've managed to bring a few more old guys like myself into the Wolfpack too. (Just wish I was 30 or 40 years younger 😁😁🤟🎸)

Hanoi Rocks should've been #1 on the list. Every hair metal band in the latter half of the 80's were just ripping them off.

This is Matt, I did say that they are very influential. The only thing is influence only gets you so far. You still have to sell albums, concert tickets and be wider known to get that top spot. Anyway Thank you for watching and for your comments.

I understand everyone has their own opinion but most of this list is ridiculous. My top 2 would be skid row or gn'r. Haha I just realized I don't think Gn'r and Skidrow should be considered hair metal at all. These two bands don't have the "cheese" factor
@subfactspodcast10 ай бұрын
Good point, I think VH1 should have defined the qualifications. That might knock GNR off the list. You could argue that Skid Row started out that way and tried to work themselves out of it. As much as I love them, Skid Row’s ballads didn’t help them get out of the hair band classification.
