My mom was Betty Hathcock daughter of Floyd Hathcock and Artie Mae(Browder) Hathcock and my Mom and her siblings were from that area but were for some reason brought to Henderson in the early 60’s when she met my dad Howard Cupples but I don’t much of their history I guess because of all the poverty and tragedy thanks this is interesting

FBI didn't invite him to the recovery efforts... Sorry you are incorrect. Deputy Price escorted the local coroner to the site. Mississippi state law required deaths to have a local coroner to be present during the recovery of the bodies. Price did not "grab a shovel" and helped dig them up. The FBI kept him and the coroner away from the dig site. You also forgot one huge omission. Price fully confessed to the murders! Later in life Price was caught selling CDL licenses and to leverage his potential arrest he confessed to the murders. His confession is well documented and was read at the Edgar Ray Killen trial. If you are going to do these videos, at least do some research first!

Never expected you to cover this one. I spent the majority of my youth in north Mississippi during Pusser's time. But I also have an uncle that lives on the outskirts of Philadelphia Mississippi, that i stayed with him a couple of years, learning wood working. That was back in the early 80's. I have a lot of info from the ol timers that were around at that time, and a few of them that were involved. Info that was never brought up or exposed during the original trial nor the 2nd investigation that occurred more recently. If you would like to pursue this one further, let me know, and we'll get in touch with each other and go from there.

When I started this KZfaq journey, I did so to make sure my kids were exposed to the truth. As near as we could research it anyway. Certainly bad things have happened here, but I challenge anyone to find such a small population that has impacted the world more fully. Not only do we have racism and the civil war, but we have hospitality, creativity, and survival skills that have changed the world. My goal was to challenge them and possibly others to decide where they want to belong.

@@BigDaddysMississippi It did. You shined a light on Emmett Till's family in Mississippi. How awful it was for them and all black families to never being able to protect their own homes and families from white people. It violates every parental sensibility. It emasculates black men as men and parents. I appreciate your channel for showing the good, bad, horrific, and the funny of your beloved state. Thank you for sharing.

In 1973, a couple of months after "Walking Tall" came out, I was working in Charleston SC putting up cable TV. One of the crew was a man from McNairy County Tennessee which I had a chance to visit with him and his wife one evening. They both said that the movie "Walking Tall" was total BS, that Buford Pusser did bust up places but only the ones that were not paying him off. They also went on to say that many in the county felt that Buford Pusser had killed his wife simply because his story did not add up and his reputation for being crooked. This was over 50 years ago and I have kept an eye on any story related to Buford Pusser. I have actually hoped that Buford Pusser had been the honest lawman that he was portrayed in the movie as but after looking things over again and again, common logic and reasoning makes me feel that Buford Pusser did indeed murder his wife. I do find it amazing that so many people were so enamored by the portrayal of Buford Pusser in the movies that they cannot objectively look at the facts and evidence of the case. I firmly believe Pusser killed his wife.
