any reason as to why they have 2 different tunnels,could have kept it all the same as the first installed one,beats me

This is the only location on the entire route in which the HS2 engineers are improving the landscape they are working with. Not much of an accolade I know, but I am happy to pay the compliment

I have found really not a lot to see from ground level. The way things are going looks like when finished there may not be much to see from the air.

Dr Beeching spent time living in Carol Green. In a half timbered place the locals called Cowpen Castle.

It's looking good. Is the road diversion permanent or is the original course going to be reinstated.

Temporary, they reinstating the original route

HS2 at Wormleighton - the wreck of a landscape
@davecooper323816 күн бұрын
Hope the drone repair doesn’t cost too much & the repair can be quickly. I have driven by the HS2 route this afternoon. South of Southam to north of the Fosse Way. It’s quite surprising how little can be seen from ground level.
@Bard_Land16 күн бұрын
Interesting to see the beginnings of the offchurch greenway bridge, along with the bridge HS2 have promised to build over the Fosse Way nearby there will finally be a decent offroad cycle track. Timelines seem to have slipped though...
@user-mm4ek2oh9t17 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing the video. I’m sure in the last one you made of this bridge you said that there was a problem that would delay its opening by some time. Do you know why that is?
@davecooper323818 күн бұрын
Plenty going on. But you don’t see a lot driving round. Loads of shallow cuttings should keep it tucked more or less out of sight.

Hi, any plans to film this area again soon? The road layout looks near to completion in your last video. I’d be interested to see if it’s actually open now and they’ve started the cuttings on the old toad side of the bridge.

Crikey, there’s a lot going on there. It will be interesting to see how HS2 finally dives under the A46.
@grahamparker474923 күн бұрын
Apparently next year the A46 will be closed for 3 weeks to dig up road and slide into place the bridge that’s being built next to the road

@@grahamparker4749 Thanks. I will keep an I open for that. Let’s hope it will be like the Kenilworth / Coventry railway bridge that ran really smoothly.

What a massive blot on the landscape & what a complete & utter waste of billions of pounds. HS2 is an environmental disaster of epic proportions & Britain's biggest infrastructure mistake in half a century.
@gingertom2355Ай бұрын
Love your series of Warks. HS2 coverage but would find it really helpful if you could hold some of the high level views for a little longer to enable the viewer to gain situational orientation and appreciation of the overall site. For example I found it difficult to work out how the track bed earthworks related to the bridge construction on the approach to it - and therefore how well progressed the line of route earthworks formation has reached in the vicinity of the bridge. Also, how much work is involved for the road deviation to cross the rail route via the new bridge. It would just set the scene a little more clearly I feel.

I suppose the local councils are more to blame for objecting to the noise pollution. On the other hand maybe scrap hs2 and continue with our over crowded out of date transport network which we already have. If you listen often enough you can hear those that bitch about the waste of money hs2 is they are the ones that constantly moan about our current infrastructure. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. What would they recommend to improve our transport system??????.
@cwmbcАй бұрын
Might of been an advantage to of done a video of the direction of the track bed. We only saw the bridge works. Then flew diagonally for a while before returning to the track line. It just helps to give orientation

Does anyone know when the bridge will be opened to general traffic? I'd love to investigate that new cycle path that's built next to the new road, the plan is that it's going to link to Southam.

Good shot of the entrances to the tunnels that go under the polo ground & Long Itchington Wood. Much better than an erking great cutting through the middle of ancient woodland.
