8 pm to 1pm? Dam. I'm sick of it after 2 sets. Thier live timing was perfect. Good thing equipment got better and recording technology, etc. One will never really understand the power of VH unless one saw them live. The world is never the same after the show. EVH was a god walking among us. The audience paid homage to him as such. Even at his worst on the 2004 tour he killed live. Sammy was a really good singer live too. Him and DLR are 2 diff people. No sense in comparing. Saw then on the 2002 Sam and Dave tour. Both great. Just like seeing 2 diff bands. Even seeing DLR on a few Lo Do shows in the 90s, he brought the full experience.

I remember seeing the Hip City Swingers (HCS) tags from the 70s in the 80s while riding the market Frankford El. I remember Johnski, Toad, Kap and Chico on the rooftops visible from the train.

*It's being the super villain, the silent assassin, the mage* They hate the art, but they can't read it or understand it, and have no grip on what it's about. The city being dirty and destroying the earth to turn it into concrete doesn't bother people. But painting that concrete? Yeah that's a huge problem. Paint it all.

Wow it's surreal watching guys who would otherwise just be known as "old(ish) men" wax nostalgic on graff history, having never lost their love for the vibe of our underworld community....if you know, you know.

What put the idea of graffiti into the minds of the first to do it? Would the intelligence agency, we shall not name, have anything to do with pushing this art subliminally? Why? Everything comes down to money. Think correlation of graffiti and the decline of real estate in areas of inner cities with speculative investors. Don't call me crazy for thinking like this. We were told native American Indians were clashing with European settlers here in America but I have seen photos of Indians dressed like the white men in the photos with them. How is that? Think about it...instead of wasting resources by fighting you find the weak link in a tribe that wants what you have. In tribe murders weren't going to trial. It would make conquering the west easier. There is much more to all the history we are expected to believe. Who brings are the drugs into the United States? Don't blame the Mexicans. What does the intelligence community do with an unlimited budget and no oversight? No one really knows. I know they are always a day late with their intelligence yet know exactly who did what after it happens. We are all being used to follow through with various agendas at play. Born and raised in Philly and I have more questions than answers being provided. We the people fund our own demise. Take a look around in 2023. We have all been duped and played.

The story I heard is that Paul Stanley saw VH first and took Gene to see them. Simmons liked them so much he wanted to be their manager, so Bill Aucoin asked the record company not to sign Van Halen.
