Excellent driving! ANother example of "more power" doesnt = winning all the time. Will say the wot of the tt p car looked to be brutally fun. Nice run, keep at it! Most the know it alls get their info from video games and really believe its the same thing. Yeesh...lol Love the solid lifter short stroke Ford and GM 5.0s. What bore/stroke did yo uto for the current CI? Std deck height?

Skip the first five minutes. Nothing interesting happens. He eventually passes the Porsche that he's been chasing for about eight minutes @12:40 because they ran into a back marker. Lucky. Then it looks as though he almost forced the Porsche off the track. Great driving. Great sounding car. not a very interesting race.

I had a 70 Boss which I had to rebuild after it spun the #1 rod bearing. I had it bored to 60 over which only yielded 306 cu. in., that 366 must have included additional stroke ! Loved the sound of the car and how he saved the tires by not abusing it !

Fords are always beating up Porsches! That goes back to the Capri days and even earlier. Ford may be Ford, but they do spend the money and they do make the effort when they want to make a point. Ford does best when they are under pressure and the sparks are flying!

I built my bronco engine (331) styled after the boss 302. It’s a manual and fun to find windy canyon roads, with little stretches of straight aways, no it’s not a race car but it’s fast, light, and can still ford 4’ of water, climb rocky trails, drive in deep snow and sand.

Cool racing - watching nine years later. It’s a historic race, so I would not expect the drivers to go all out or be experienced in their respective racers. No one wants to crash these cars. 😀

Instead of the four Webbers I'm surprised they didn't use the Autolite inline 4 bbl carbs. They where made so that the throat spacing on the carb throats matched the intake port spacing on the 302 Cleveland heads. Always love the drivers perspective of the Corkscrew. I can imagine the stomach rising towards my throat feel th hat must have at speed.

The trouble with road racing is the fastest car takes the pole and everyone else starts farther back. So all the fast car has to do is keep going faster than everyone else to win. Then you get boring procession like this one (and most F1 races) with no fan appeal. SCCA needs to take a page from circle track and invert the start. Much more enjoyable to watch.

I don't think this cars use to race each other. Maybe same era but different categories. Porsches look like regular GT's while the Mustang seems more like Can-Am series... Anyone?

Study racing history Pedro. IMSA GT Camel series to induce competition ruled that any car could be converted to a tube chassis as long as it retained the windshield and roof of the original car. The BMWs, Dekon Monzas, Greenwood Corvetes and other serious competitors in this class were all tube chassis and no limit on horsepower. It was a wide open, very competitive class from 1974 to 1981.

@@jwatkins6374 Hi. I'm not in any way an expert or an historician of racing. My point beeing that, In Europe, this cars would probably race under different categories and different rules. It's probably a mixed race, for fun. I really was asking if these two cars, according to the regulations, would race in the same category (?). Take care.

OK, you beat the Interscope 935 but Bruce must have DNF'd due to engine or gearbox issues or this was a warm-up. I must say, that Boss changes directions incredibly well. Your turn-in and lines were flawless! Nice to see a NA Mustang beat up a 935. Is this a Boss with 4V heads or is this a C302/AE headed engine? Loved every second of this video!

@@RDubbayah Knowing Bruce, he probably pulled of the track to give the driver of the Interscope Porsche win. But when he pulled of the driver of the black Porsche didn't know Laguna Seca well enough to hold P1 position. Bruce is a better driver than me and his car is incredible. The heading of this video was just an experiment to see how many more lookers it would get than just a plain title. It is basically a Boss engine running with the original Falconer-Dunn intake and four webbers, but bored and stroked to 366 cu.
