Good work. Especially the prep work in repairing the flange. I remember the first time I replaced a windscreen when I was a teenager, probably in 1970. I had no idea how to do it. I didn't know a grommet held the windshield in place. My dad suggested I sit in the front seat and push the windscreen out using my feet. It worked perfectly. I got a replacement in a junk yard, again removing it from the donor car with my feet. The next day I asked my dad how to put it back in. He was getting in his car to go to work but mumbled something about putting a string around the grommet and using it to pull windscreen and grommet onto the flange. I had never seen it done and spent the whole day figuring it out by trial and error but finally got it. I was using sisal string as that is all we had and ruined the grommet so had to get another one. That paracord you used worked very well.

Mine came out quite easily. From inside prise out the blanking caps , remove the screws . It should then be loose apart from the sealant . The inside frame should just fall away then gently prise out the outer . Good luck

That's a scary moment after spending thousands of hours to restore the car and then waiting for the MOT guy to drive it into the pit. Britain is a strange place- to drive your car you need to go through a detailed and thorough inspection, but to live in Britain you just wade ashore and they give you money and a place to live.

I noticed on your last video you were using a heat gun to remove some rubber seals. I've been struggling to replace some of the rubber seals around my RV windows. The new sealing strips I got have been too stiff to put them in the groove. I bet if I heat them up a bit first they will fit right in. Thanks for the tip!

I have really enjoyed watching your postings . Thank you. BTW, the XK140 has now been traded for a 57 Ford Thunderbird but I had 2 years trouble free and enjoyable driving in it, just time for a change! Best wishes, Neil

Yes, I've seen your xk140 videos. That was how I found your channel! They will be a great resource when I get started. The motorhome project was a big one. They are built on a truck chassis but there is very little framework for the walls and roof which are 2 inch thick Styrofoam laminated between two 1/8 inch plywood with a thin coat of filon on the exterior walls and rubber membrane on the roof. There is just not much support other than a few 1 inch square aluminum tubing that support the roof in a few places. I had no idea! Yours looks a bit more conventional van structure. It will be fun to watch your progress.

I've been redoing a 1999 Georgie Boy RV for the last year or two. Its a 27 foot class A Motorhome with about 18,000 miles on it with a large Workhorse (GM) V8 engine that runs well. It had a leaky rubber roof so I had to replace the entire roof structure. The water leaking from the roof rotted many of the cabinets so I remodeled the entire interior, building a bunch of new cabinets and replacing all the appliances. Its been quite an undertaking. I'm near the end, updating the 12v and AC electrical systems and adding solar panels. I have to finish it before I can start on my XK 140. It looks like your camper van has a metal roof so it should be good. My main advice is to ensure the roof is intact before you do anything else! I enjoyed the Simca series! Jim in Florida

That's a big job . Yes my roof is fibreglass and perfectly dry inside .The Eriba has a steel skeleton rather than timber so maybe less susceptible to rot damage . I guess you saw my XK140 videos ?
