Gits and Gadgets...my god that seems a lifetime ago. Shops and banks come and go, but Boyes will never die. So glad to spot Delboy in Guisbrough too🙂

I was expecting a roundabout, well I wasn’t, because I know the bypass is new. But I can remember it not being there without remembering what it was like.

You not got the dual carriageway from Nunthorpe to guisborough when the second half was single lane? It’s like a distant cloudy memory for me.

If this was filmed on a weekday and you'd popped over to Galley Hill School, I could have been in the video. 🙂 I was 6 years old back then.

So,So many changes since 1983, your new vid taken in 2015. shows such a difference, although if the same route was filmed again today (2023) nothing has change since 2015, Has Guisborough stopped for a rest lol?

Great video. Think it was 1983 that I started working in the Courts there. And you drove past a couple of my old addresses. I remember the Moorcock, and the sewing factory would have still been opposite then too, though can't quite make it out.

Thanks Toni, glad people are still enjoying it

Blast from the past. I would have been 12 when that was shot. Remember the buses called United, Hotel called the Moorcock (I had my wedding reception there).I hardly go back to Guisborough now after joining the Army in 1988. Good memories

For info the video is still on, some reason it doesn't work on certain phones. Always works on computers I think, Tried to alter all settings I can think of so it works on all platforms.

Great video... I used to peer through the huge black doors of Blackett Hutton when I was a boy and dream about working there.. Never did get my chance, but ended up at British Steel instead, all the way through to its closure with SSI.. History of Guisborough is so forgotten and hidden..

Great video this. It's amazing how much has remained the same really - New Road, Bolkow Street, Redcar Rd, even the High Street - all pretty much exactly the same over 30 years on. I vaguely remember the old foundry (Blacketts?) opposite what is now the TA Club. I remember the Moorcock too.

Very nice to watch. I left Guisborough in 1985 and came to the Middle East. Been back a few times, this video brings back nice memories, not a great deal of changes mind. It was nice to see LJS, the Police Station, Garth Surgery, The Swan, The Church, the High Street in general. Thanks for sharing the video...... Wonderful watching it. Good music as well.

I moved to Guisborough in 1985 (now live a long long way away) and used to go shopping at Fine Fare and used to drink in that pub which I now cannot remember the name of... argh, what was it called???? Anyway - thanks for the upload. Looking forward to my visit there in a few weeks and I remember it more like it is in the video. Great memories...

Nice one. I remember standing watching at the open doors of the Blackett Hutton foundry for hours. Remember working many sessions at the Moorcock over 3 or 4 years, for some reason seem to recall cashing-up 2 grand over the lounge bar Fridays, mid-70's

Great video. Was 11 in '83. Remember so much of this. Lived on Hunters Hill in Fernie Road then Rufford Close before moving to Australia. Many nights (some maybe underage) fun at Moorcock Pub on friday nights listening to Time Travellers DJ's. Was great and kinda sad seeing some of the shops and businesses on the main road that are no longer there. My mum went into labor with my brother in Rea's cafe. Anyone remember the Saturday arvo matinees at the fleapit Cinema. Great memories. Thx for U/L.
