ever think about trying to find work for some those tractors in the off season? not sure if you're leasing which would have hour restrictions that could get in the way. some 3 pt boom mowers and 3 pt flail mowers for some city or highway contracts cutting medians etc.

Really admire the investment with your fleet of tractor will you do some more explaining I’ve just learned recently you can buy you John Deere’s in packs and I’m a agricultural student and never heard or seen that before

Pretty sure told you to do that earlier but you said then your adding that much more expense to each tractor and for you it actually adds up. Only need to deal with gravel in yards once to know you never want to do it again. Love the content tho!

Make sure to regularly grease the shaft.😅 I made this change last Winter and had a shaft failure due to lack of lubrication. What a mess it was!

Wouldn't a couple skid plates JUST on the side do the same thing? Set them an inch or two LOWER than the drag blade.. like a plow

Gotta be able to scrape clean on concrete and asphalt too though. Skid shoes would leave too much snow on those surfaces. This is really the only good answer

@@Kolton_Wagner removable wouldn't be hard, couple holes & rods through, with just cotter pins Could have multiple hight settings. The backdrag using (assuming) another third, 3pt hitch mount hydraulic.. its gonna put a lot of stress on that cylinder & pump.. Using downforce on the snow machine + snow (itself) weight..

@adamgray8333 you wanna get out at every driveway to take them off and put them on? We all have both hard top and gravel driveways mixed through out our routes. Would cost soooo much time doing that

@@adamgray8333that takes too long in this business. The cylinder will be fine and they make new ones everyday if it’s not. This might add $2-3k of cost per tractor but is worth it for the time and end of season cleanup savings

Seems like snow will pick up the blower and will not clean that well. Also making the driveway really icy packing the snow like that. Just 2 things that come in mind looking at this. But hey, I have not tried it, so maybe it will work just fine. Have to try to improve and I respect that.

That's the nature of the beast with gravel driveways. They needed to be packed down to create that frozen hard base layer. Failing to do that will have the gravel pulled up every time it is cleared with any snow removal tool.
