I personally don’t think that was a very good song for the kind of voice she has. It didn’t express her range very good. She has a beautiful voice, but that song didn’t do her justice. I know this is after the fact but, hopefully she got out of the audition and the performances what she wanted.

I’m still waiting and watching for her to appear on Broadway. Soon I hope. I finally saw Wicked on Broadway last fall and she sang this song as well as the woman we saw, who was also great. I hope she is getting her acting training to go along with her generational voice.

✨ *Becky is STUNNING visually and vocally in this song.* ✨ Honestly, Simon does NOT have a parent's heart; for ANY loving parent-and person-is moved by this. There are songs that touch the deepest part inside of you-songs that give a glimpse of what love for another really is. THIS IS one of those songs, AND Becky conveyed that in her singing… as well as gave a tiny glimpse of a mother's love. Simon's comment reflects an entirely superficial appraisal of the performance, as if it's all only about shining outwardly, making some effect or flashy edge to make the performer stand out. Simon forgets that the greatest connection a singer OR person can have is with the heart of another. Both in vocal depth and in heart Becky has that… and expresses that in her singing this unique song. I wonder if Simon would've said his criticism to the >legendary singers< who'd sung this song also, as Becky mentioned? To repeat, I honestly don't think Simon has a clue about the depths of real love OR what it means to express that in a song. Even those legendary singers I'm certain could give Simon some clue-I'm positive Ray Charles could-yet the love of a mother who endured and left an abusive marriage AND cares for five (5)! children… THAT kind of love is a universe away from anything that's inside of Simon. Again, this was >beautifully< done by Becky.
