When I first saw this scene on its initial TV screening I sobbed my little 11-year-old heart out. It still kind of gets me; I'm a bit more ambivalent about the alternate ending.

The best joke in the movie: Judy Garland singing "Who stole my heart away" with a visible baby bump (that turned out to be Liza Minnelli).

Right on, Red River! It's always heartening when this underrated movie gets its due, especially now that it's in profit after decades of being considered (unfairly) one of the biggest bombs in movie history. And no, Barbra Streisand was not too young to play Dolly.

This is one movie where the "cut for TV" version is actually an improvement: it takes out those stupid still montages, trims a couple of overlong numbers, and removes two extraneous scenes. If that had been the original theatrical release, the movie probably would have had a better chance of succeeding at the box office. I'm glad, though, that good old "Charity" finally found its audience when it was re-released in the '80s.

6:08. Paul Frees: "That was right on the money I think." Me after listening to his "no windows and no doors" line: "It's above and beyond being right on the money. You did an epic job playing the ghost host."

I remember singing this song when I was 3-years old on the floor in my bedroom. The record was red, and I played it time and again on my little record player with replaceable needles. Those were the days when the story of Davy Crockett (Fess Parker) and his sidekick Georgie Russell (Buddy Ebsen) were occasionally on the Disney TV program for free hosted weekly by Walt himself. We had faux coonskin caps and awesome toy flintlock rifles that shot caps - the round ones that you load and re-load one at a time.

These videos are unbelievable and so nostalgic for me! Thank you for your creativity and inspiring me to make my own channel and make soundtracks like these! Maybe sometime you could come back and redo these with the new mapping projections and orb effects? I have files I can give you that are high quality SFX that you can use sometime!

“Back on dry land” was said in Pinocchio. Cliff Edwards recited that line from the movie for this Disneyland record. Jiminy Cricket said to Pinocchio “Sure feels good to be back on dry land”, after they both had escaped from Pleasure Island and they swam across to the bay.

I can’t be the only one who found the powerhouse section kind of creepy, right? The loud blaring alarm combined with that eerie music and the animatronic furnace with a face just runs chills up my spine.

Even after Pepsi and Frito-Lay stopped sponsoring the show, for a while they left in Henry saying, "we've all got a lot to give", which was a reference to Pepsi's slogan at the time.

INCREDIBLE job with all of the documentation included! My hat is off to you for this! Thank you--this took some work. I came back to edit this comment because I just noticed something that isn't mentioned in the notes. I have a musical ear and have never noticed this until now (I'm 53 years old and have spent my life at Disneyland). Listen to the bass singer at the end with the "15 children and 8 adults"! That's Thurl Ravenscroft isn't it?? If so, that would blow my mind lol Am I hallucinating???
