Yes, but I recommend always checking your local water pH first. Tap water build up isn't much of an issue if you regularly change the water. In my experience, I haven't had issues watering them with tap water, some other plants may be more sensitive but I haven't encountered any issues.

Great video! Welcome to the ginger world, so many to collect😅. These get massive just saying😊. They are triggered from monsoon rain storms, so dont over water before u see growth. It will take a few years to get to flowering size and its hedychium not holychium even if it sound fancy 😅.

Hi i know this is old video but i just recently received my first vanda and some of the longer roots are brown but not mushy or black and when i water it those roots dont turn green like the rest of ones in the basket any advice on should i cut them or leave them on

I would never reuse soil of a failing plant, especially if it has been purchased or obtained from someone else. There is no way that you can tell that the soil is free of pests. That soil is hard because it is not the correct mixture to begin with. Adding some perlite is not going to help soil that the plant has already used up the nutrients from. Let the plant have fresh soil with a natural source of nutrients. Why repot a plant if you’re not going to give it a fresh new start?

Genuine gratitude. I had 3 plants given to me in colored glass containers about 5 months ago. I intuitively felt changing the water was a good idea, but didn't want to risk damage or the positive plants' progress. Your video was just what I was looking for sharing specifics void of fluff, and included visual examples. Much appreciation.
