You can tell Sammy practiced 10 hrs. a day. He's spotless and clear on the lyrics. Him and Ralph harmonize the best I've ever heard with CMB 's!

Ralph Stanleys fiddler just burns that up. Whew he is the best. Suprised his fiddle has not got sawed into.

Much of the music of Ralph Stanley is gospel music. Like Bill Monroe they sing for Gods glory.

What an excellent video. I love Vesta with its strange parallel troughs, presenting an image as though a massive truck had left tracks that go all around his minor planet.

Junior Blankenship was 18 years old here and Charlie Sizemore was the grand old age of 17. Just kids.

Oh, that is interesting. So there existed a connection between Breathitt and Dickenson before Roy Lee Centers. I'd love to know she and Sam Stanley got together. Hey, thanks and greetings from Floyd County (not but a short ways from Decoy).

This is a wonderful historical record of Ralph and co. Irrespective of audio clarity, it is a great pleasure to see them move and hear them talk. Thank you for sharing this long ago.

The 1st version was issued on REM (KY) 45 - 353 which has a RCA Custom pressing code of RK4M-8340/ RK4M-8341 which means it was pressed in 1964 not 1965.

I can’t help myself. I went to high school from ‘75-79 in Jackson KY where Mr Centers is from. By a strange chance my great mamaw’s 2nd husband was Sam Stanley, Ralph’s uncle. I never met Ralph but can tell you Sam was an outstanding man.
