Consider a flitting on the dome mold panels to use air pressure to help pop the panels off.

Preplastering... I recommend covering the assembled dome with 2 mil plastic (maybe shrink wrap) then adding 1/2” of plaster over the entire outside (future interior) of the structure, then the reinforcement, then the cement. Then when you remove the forms there will be less sticking and the plastic should give is a fairly smooth interior and the plaster will make it ready to paint after a little smoothing... also you could use fabric cloth, (the same shape, but a little larger than the dome pieces), to put on the wet cement and “paint” cement mixed with water and type 2 titebond wood glue (for flexibility) over the cloth. This would protect the cement from micro fractures and impact. I also recommend adding the glue to the entire cement mix...

Always interested in seeing a new dome building technique. I cringe anytime I see a dome with large external protrusions like that entry doorway. Totally ruins smooth airflow around the building

the best way to remove the mold would be compressed air nipples in the middle of each panel at 24 inch and not to use staple but ties .I would like the full size one if its for sale.

IT'S AMAZING, WE HAVE BEEN SITTING ON THIS PRODUCT FOR OVER 100 YEARS AND NOW IT IS JUST COMING INTO FOCUS AS A RENEWABLE ENERGY. YOU SHOULD LOOK IN TO TUBA TUBA FRUIT GROWN IN THE PHILIPPINES, THEY USE IT AS FENCE MATERIAL BECAUSE GOATS WON'T EAT THROUGH IT. THEY SAY 2.5 ACRES PRODUCES LIKE (I think) A THOUSAND GALLONS OF BIO-DIESEL.

I appreciate your efforts, I see you went into a great deal of detail - this would never be practical to your target audience. Imagine trying to separate those Molds when they are increased by a factor of 3. The Dome Principal is sound, however I don't thing the Roof'd entry is necessary. *FerroConcrete* is an old but effective technique, the use of such molds are relatively new - free form armature structure has been used for a long time and it doesn't require mass effort to separate molds. My new engine will solve this using 6 fuels and NH3 via solar thermal on house via engine and NH3 storage. Run cars, house and electricity 100% renewable. Also works in seaplane!

Ever think of using that plastic cardboard product as a form. That product is bendible and slippery, comes in 10ft lengths, use to be 10. a sheet until recently, probably $15. a sheet now at HomeDepot / I'm thinking of cattle panels 16 x 4 as a form with the plastic cardboard over and open weave fabric over the p. cardboard, than mesh wire, spray on papercrete. plastic cardboard can be used over and over. I have the plastic cardboard on the outbuildings and it looks as good as the day I put it on the buildings

I am intrigued by the ammonia engine ever since I wrote a paper about the diesel engine and learned Rudolf Diesel was into ammonia engines before taking off with the diesel... I do wonder though, I realize the carbon is 0 when burnt but I wonder what the amount of carbon released by the ammonia production... (since it is made with coal etc...) how would that compare with fossil fuel's total footprint?

air is 80% nitrogen and water is 1/9 hydrogen by weight so i was thinking energy from nuclear power could produce clean ammonia

I'm looking for a system like this. I'd like to do a utility shed and workshop to prove to myself I can do this. I live near Moscow Russia so energy efficient is as important as cost effective. I'd like to follow this technique. My only suggestion is using basalt rebar rather than steel rebar. It looks like you used basalt fiber mesh. So the structure looks stronger than done with steal and should last 200 years or longer.

Using Basalt re-bar is the way to go. Light, and much stronger than steel.

+Pat Emilio (Illogic Buster) How do we know which is cheaper? I saw no cost breakdown for this system. Or that it's even being produced. As I'm trying to figure out what it would take for me to build a similar method to build the forms for a dome of my own.

+Robert Miller Because to correctly engineer a full sized rigid form shell would cost more than an airform. In addition, it is clear that the process is more labor intensive & complex than with the "monolithic dome" method. Ergo, higher cost.

I'm sure it makes a difference between how large full size is. If it's only twice as big that's one thing, but I've seen some monolithic domes which are huge. You are right this system would cost a fortune on a 20 ft. high and 30 ft. across. I like this idea for something smaller. My idea is to not use a form and form a grid of 5/8" basalt rebar into a dome shape. I'll use a center line of a steel pipe to tie the vertical and horizontal pieces to the right position. A steel cable with a that measures the distance from the centerline to the shell. Then cover the matrix with basalt fiber mesh for the shotcrete or stucco. No forms, and no steel in the shell to eventually rust and crack the shell.

+Robert Miller If you are only going to be building something like a 10'-12' diameter structure you only need basalt roving + the mesh for the external concrete stucco layers.

+Pat Emilio (Illogic Buster) I've seen smaller domes are built with only the roving. Perhaps I'm not familiar enough with how that works and how strong the roving is. I'd like to build larger structures. Like single family homes. I've recently moved to Moscow Russia and when peace finely breaks out in Ukraine and or Syria. I'd like to have a way with little skilled labor to help these people rebuild.

Thorium Sodium reactors are safe, 100% sustainable and cheap. We have far in excess of 4,000 years available if we go to 100% electricity from nuclear energy. Don't trust on the "Global Climate Change" boogie man to continue to scare people. Even Lincoln said you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
