At the beginning of our career we drove a fleet owners truck that was leased to FedEx Custom Critical.

Thanks guys for re-upping the old stuff! As you said, no Hyfield mentors back in the day, and now you're "mentoring" your earlier selves. Some people just don't get the added value you are making now. Are you going to Expedite Expo next month? We hope we can meet you again (we did last year).

Wife and I have been OTR O/O for about 9 years now. We are interested in MAYBE doing expedite someday. The idea of being free of trailers is very appealing, plus the fancier, better equipped sleeper (we would only take a truck with a shower and turlet) . I do have a couple questions after watching this. One, why did one of your trucks have a lower weight ability than another? Second, why is the oil a special oil vs basic diesel truck oil?

$ 1800 ... is that before or after the split with Hyfield ?
@TruckandTravel13 күн бұрын
We never drove for Hyfield. Hyfield provides a mentorship program, probably would have been a higher number if we did drive for Hyfield. $1,800 is gross to the truck before drivers are given their cut.

@@TruckandTravel Nothing solo? What if I buy my own? Easy to get loads?
@TruckandTravel13 күн бұрын
You can buy your own truck and lease to FedEx custom critical. I just don't know how many loads are available for solos. I also don't know what kind of money you can expect for that. Part of the reason we get higher rates is a team driver is required.

How much time do sit waiting for a load or waiting to unload a week ?
@TruckandTravel16 күн бұрын
Most places we deal with are good about loading and unloading. Lockbourne Ohio was one that comes to mind that would make us wait. There can be some waiting around time for these loads but they make up for it in the pay of the load if you bid the right price on them.

Me personally, I don't care what anybody makes, but I understand if you want to share the information to help others curious about expediting as a career.
