Reminder: 1. Wind may cause the tarps to flutter a bit. Possible paint scratches. Solution: Double-sided tape to hold felt fabric strips to tarp at potential contact points. Larger piece of felt may come in handy for roof area as well. Prevents scratches!!! And, it’s cheap. 2. Wind may also cause the magnets to shift! Solution: Suction cups with hooks (AMAZON). Safe Journeys to ya!

The best channels like this are the ones where people show the truth about how they are feeling, share their learning journey, and acknowledge that things aren't always magical. You have that nailed. Don't change if you hit the big time. Cheers from southernmost Canada.

Go to a bike shop and ask for throw-away flat tire tube. Cut it open and cut a circle to match your magnet. Then see if the magnet still has enough grip with the rubber between the car and the magnet. If you're happy with it, glue the rubber on with some E6000 or similar glue.

Why would you camp alone knowing how fucked up the world is and how many people go missing . You’re ASKING for trouble. Ain’t worth it
@colleenventures8 күн бұрын
Appreciate the concern, I’m camping at designated camp spots. I’m not doing back country stuff deep in the wilderness. I enjoy camping and either I go by myself or I don’t go at all which is not how I want to live my life. Cheers 🇨🇦

You can replace the regular nuts on the magnets with wing nuts to make it easier to take on and off. You can get them at a local hardware store. Just bring the magnet with you to get the proper size. I would also add a washer between the grommet and the nut.

Brilliant idea!! 💡 I will do that!!

There are channels that teach knots but I would recommend a bushcraft channel to learn more skills for the outdoors. @CoalcrackerBushcraft is my favorite for short, concise and useful information but there are tons of channels to choose from. That second setup looked better, but you want to be able to open your doors with your tarp up and I'm not sure that you could. If you can find one, I picked up a 6' x 20' white tarp I found and I love it for a couple of reasons: 1. It's white, so it reflects the sun and makes it true shade and cooler underneath and 2: It's long enough that I can park nose toward the sun (ideal) and have tarp on either side of my rig. The third reason is related to the first reason and that's color. Blue tarps are ubiquitous, but blue is the favorite color of most (all?) insects, including mosquitoes. I recommend avoiding blue camping gear (and clothing) like the plague. P. S. You have a cute cat! If he's not already harnessed trained, I recommend starting as soon as possible. Cats love to explore the outdoors as well.

Yes you need to come to Canada 🇨🇦 let’s go camping!! ⛺️ lol yes agreed, he was not thinking 🤔 straight. on walking in without my consent. I will gladly talk to most people, and chat you up, but that was weird. It was a fairly busy area so that’s good/ others around. 🥰thanks for the comment

Post #2: Can you even believe people sometimes? On this trip, I found a nice site at a nearly empty campground. Me and one other person. Right before my son came up, a family of around 15 pulled in right next to me! Who DOES THAT? You had the WHOLE SITE! They had screaming kids, loud adults, and two barking pit bulls. I won't go into that, but I have a Pug and son brought up French Bulldog, and we were just uncomfortable with how uncontrolled the dogs were. Luckily with the easy car camping set up we both have, it was no big deal to move across the campground. But you just have to wonder what the hell people are even THINKING??
@colleenventures22 күн бұрын
That truly baffles me!! Such strange behaviour. It’s like parking lots, they park right beside you yet it’s completely empty. Wild to me!! Thank you for your comments as always 🙏🏻💜

I have heated seats, and I'm sure I use those more than I would AC seats, but very nice! This time of year, the swamp butt is real! Another long response, coming, sorry. Was going solo up to Muddy Mountain near Casper WY this past weekend. Managed to make it up there with NO cash for the camp site. I am 100% stashing at least a $20 in my glove box from now on. Our card society has me rarely carrying cash. Not only that, can you believe I didn't look at my gas tank before I left? Got up there with .25 tank. My head was not screwed on all the way last weekend. It's about 45 minutes from home, but still. Lucky had some wifi, messaged son that I'd made it but might not be staying, depending on whether the ranger came to run me off. Son said "Sigh. Well it was SUPPOSED to be a surprise, but I'm headed up and I'll bring cash." I have such a great kid! That said, the site was out of pay envelopes, and no ranger ever came through to collect, so I'd have been fine, but was still thrilled with my son's company. I am so glad you are showing the drive you did on that steep road. That is the crap that gives me INTENSE driving anxiety and I have got to find a way to work through it. The road to our closest campsite is almost as scary looking as that, and I am seriously ridiculous about it. I had to take it about 10mph hugging the inside all the way down last weekend. If someone big coming up had met me, I would have probably been crying getting over to the edge to let them by. I need to find a way to overcome this!

Get a big dog or a gun if you are out alone in the woods. You can’t expect people to not come near you because you are a “female on your own.”

My seats on the passenger side when lowered is very narrow, it splits at 3/4 on one side, then a 1/4 on passenger side. If that makes sense. ⛺️
