I yearn for the day I own my own bit of land out in the country! I have big plans to make it a bird & wildlife haven ❤️ I grew up on a hobby farm and spent so much time outside in the meadows & woods, observing & enjoying all the birds & critters. I ache when I see any new developments or even farm buildings going up. I wish people would appreciate the wild places and protect them more. I take a lot of nature walks and I see so much trash strewn about. Makes me really dislike people even more and long to be a hermit in the woods lol

I got your book and several years back I started to put more bushes and perennials that attract birds. I’ve got lots of natives and have a park area next to my place that has lots of shrubs with berries and also trees with berries . Oak trees, pines, magnolias, dogwoods, Hollie’s, female Chinese pistache trees that have berries, cotoneasters on sloping areas , etc. There are tons of different birds here and I’ve got a lot of hummingbird plants as well. I’m instilling this information into my adult son to be a good steward of the environment. It only takes a effort to research things you can do. Ty for writing your book 📕 and once I move I plan on using a lot less of your suggestions. Too many sterile plants like the agaves etc that don’t provide anything for wildlife . Ty 😊
