You did a great job for your first time! I'm wondering where you bought the bar molds. The only ones I've bought or seen, hold well over an ounce. I'm looking for smaller molds. Thanks.

Nice work! I dig the dredge! What brand of gloves are ya using? My Glacier Gloves lasted one day 😂 and I’m just working the creeks old school style (shovel, pick, classifiers, and sometimes a sluice too). Thanks!

If you had another flame-thrower, you could hit the silver as it is about to leave the cauldron before it goes into the mold. It usually helps to keep the silver flowing more fluidly and not allow it to solidify before settling into the mold.

Well, 0.925 is not 925, I think... 🤔 One more scam I learned about... We have special hallmarks here in Europe... The idea of silver cleaning with rock tumbler is good, I will steal that... 😀 Magnetic polishers cost kidney... to make rock tumbler costs less... Thanks...

DO NOT DO THIS!!! Hydraulic mining, using a jet of water on dry land, is NOT legal up here in Alaska. Nor was it legal 3 years ago when this video was made. It actually states that on your dredge permit. You can use a blast nozzle underwater anywhere you want, but it is illegal to do this above water. The hosts should have instead used the blaster underwater to remove the supporting dirt and just pulled the material above water down with their hands and a rake. Perfectly legal. The odds of getting caught are slim to none, with Slim on his way out the door. But, should you be caught, they will take everything. Your dredge, your equipment, your boat, your gold,… everything. If they’re nice they won’t take your car so you can get home. Every summer I’d run into a dirtball of a guy that just lost about $25k+ in equipment for violating our mining laws. We warned him, but his stupidity kept getting in his way. Don’t make that same mistake.

If you don’t want to do the planning and logistics, gold camps like this are definitely a good way to go. It’s pricey and you won’t find enough gold to pay for your trip, but you’ll have a no-worry fun vacation. But there are plenty of places in AK with better gold that are open to the public. So if you’re not afraid of a little work, you can spend less and find more gold by managing & planning your own trip.

Nice! I believe she left the flowpan in the flow of the river a bit too long. It only takes seconds to clear the pan once it's in the flow. That's why you had gold in the tailings.
